If you are using Ableton Live, you can save the loaded ensemble as instrument rack and put it to the favourites folder. It works at least with the full version of Reaktor....chk071 wrote: Mon May 06, 2019 2:20 pm Reaktor is not for everyone, that's for sure. It doesn't have to be though, i use the Reaktor Player since i got Monark, and never fiddled with anything but the synth back then. Yes, it is an extra layer, and, yes, it takes a few more clicks to load the ensemble (although you can also load it as the standard which is loaded by default etc.), but, IMO, it's definitely worth it.

Yeah, I am demoing it and some really beautiful and usable presets in there. Super 8 + Neon Drive Expansion would be a great combination.Sinisterbr wrote: Mon May 06, 2019 6:16 pmYes, they sound great. Pro tip: If you map the instrument rack's controls to the most commonly used controls, so that you have some control over the instrument, and then turn off automatic loading of the plugin's U/I, it will load much faster in Ableton. This applies to all plugins, not just Reaktor. In addition to faster loading it also keeps your screen clean and, IMO, promotes a faster workflow. You can still dig into the plugin by bringing up the U/I from the rack.DJ Warmonger wrote: Mon May 06, 2019 6:18 pmGreat info, thanks!Rastkovic wrote: Mon May 06, 2019 6:05 pm If you are using Ableton Live, you can save the loaded ensemble as instrument rack and put it to the favourites folder. FIrst gui bug .
Waveform shape modulation is not shown when modulated by one of the envelopes .
Unless the lfo speed parameter is moved a little bit ( without applying modulation )

INdiviual per voice filter cut off spread (or any other destination ) in tyrellEvilDragon wrote: Mon May 06, 2019 1:36 pmTeksonik wrote: Mon May 06, 2019 1:33 pmYou can just download and install Tyrell N6 for free which in my opinion blows away Super 8
Not in the amount of modulation possible, though![]()
While reaktor is perfectly capable of doing this with the voice module , I think it's pretty hard to hack that one into super 8
So tyrell wins there

Right, but, Reaktor's best dividends really go to those who are able to grok the underlying technicalities. The more you know, the more useful it is. The only other tool that comes close, and while it has some advantages it has numerous and frustrating disadvantages, is Max.gentleclockdivider wrote: Mon May 06, 2019 8:11 pmINdiviual per voice filter cut off spread (or any other destination ) in tyrellEvilDragon wrote: Mon May 06, 2019 1:36 pmTeksonik wrote: Mon May 06, 2019 1:33 pmYou can just download and install Tyrell N6 for free which in my opinion blows away Super 8

I'm not really telling you (gentleclockdivider) anything, of course, just pointing out to others that this probably explains much of the divide. My guess is that most readers here don't even know whether this is an easy or difficult problem to solve in Reaktor.
FWIW: An interesting ensemble to study to wrap your head around the ideas involved here is SpaceDrone.
Once you get even a basic idea of how to rework ensembles, all of a sudden ensembles like this have way more value to you than they do to most users. I rarely use Monark, but it's filter is in, literally, dozens of ensembles that I use regularly, even polyphonic ones. Carbon 2 can run easily with 16 to 24 voices with the Monark filter on my system.
I demo'd this and didn't think that much of the filter on first testing. It's not better to my ears than the filters that are already in Blocks and I can lift and use those already in other ensembles. I'll do more testing when I'm not busy building and using existing projects. The point is though, that $70 may be too much for most users for a simple synth, but if it really has parts that are super useful, then it may be worth the cost. You'll never realize this though unless you at least try to start working with Reaktor at a slightly higher(lower?) level. You don't even have to be an expert. Just learning the basics and taking something of a circuit bending approach will go a long way.
That's really what's great about Reaktor. That NI (among others) does pro level work with it, distributes that work, and leaves enough unlocked that you can re-use the pieces in other places. I don't use TRK-01 bass much either, but that filter is also great and has been lifted into other ensembles.

Simple character comparison. Sawtooth with square sub osc into LP filter at 88.2khz. No modulation or effects.Rastkovic wrote: Sun May 05, 2019 6:55 am To me Super 8 is a character synth, so i would not really try to replace something....

Without complex modulations or effects processing they sound mostly the the same to me.

Its Placebo. I've done just that (put a simple wave form into a filter) in my previous post. The differences only come about when you start modulating things and using the onboard effects.gentleclockdivider wrote: Sun May 05, 2019 12:41 pm OPinions are like assholes bala bla etc..
But those saying that S8 it sounds like a generic plugin will probably never be able to separate a great sounding plug from a mediocre one .
Super 8 sounds fantastic , just one square osc into the filter and you'll notice it immediately ...this thing moves air .
A lot of detail went into the amp stage as well , it really sounds alive
Well don N.I.

This kind of comparisons doesn't make sense to me. It's always possible to get similar results, especially with static sounds. Moog, ARP, Roland, Oberheim, whatever.v1o wrote: Mon May 06, 2019 8:49 pmWithout complex modulations or effects processing they sound mostly the the same to me.
That's the reason why original vs. emulation comparison also not make much sense. Create a complete track with only one synth (incl. modulations) and you hear the difference.....

Humans didn’t just recently learn how to complain. We come out of the womb crying. I don’t know if NI reads forums at all, but I think it would be good if they did. Flip the argument around. Have you ever heard of someone in a thread complaining that a synth wasn’t a Reaktor ens? When Massive X comes out, no one will wish it was one. Oh, they’ll be tons of complaining, but about other things.chk071 wrote: Mon May 06, 2019 3:51 pmDunno about that. If it was collective, we would be talking about other things than the additional work with Reaktor by now.pdxindy wrote: Mon May 06, 2019 3:14 pmIt has little to do with that. It is a collective effort and not to be placed only on the people displeased with it being a Reaktor Ensemble rather than a VST synth. It is a collective difficulty to let other people have differing opinions without attacking them, demeaning them or otherwise creating a hierarchy of value with ones own opinion at the top.chk071 wrote: Mon May 06, 2019 2:31 pm Sure, fair enough. I'm not sure what 39 pages of discussion in this thread would change about that though?
It's unfortunate, but, the negative talk is always more emphasized than the positive talk. Guess that's human nature. Or... human nature 2019.
Anyway, I’ve seen developers change and add things when there’s customer feedback. “I’d want it if it were a VST,” is a great complement. It means they got the most important thing right.
