If you can't beat em... :o

My entry for this month's Mix Challenge songwriting contest - theme 80s sinth-pop/new wave influenced. I may redo the vocals at some point, let's see. Unfeasible amount of reverb, and cheesy middle pickup chorused strat 80s 'funk' guitar. Includes Pet Shop Boys ripoff homage bits in Lankysheer/Yarkshur accent... :hihi:

Your vocals have way too much emotion and nuance to sound like Neil Tennant, accent or no accent. That said, if it's the bit I think it is, sounded kinda like a blend of these two:

Which probably isn't a terrible thing given the nature of the contest.

My Feedback

Overall - 9.875

Very nice. Sounded a bit like Peter Gabriel when you raised the volume of your voice.

Hehe, that's the bugger. Forgot about the Murray Head one..

As I always tell the people at my work, rapping in a Lancashire accent is cool. I even did a bit over some Public Enemy to prove it..

Hehe, I wondered how long that would take. To be honest even thought it a bit myself this time. I'm not as posh as Pete though.

please do.
at least bring them up a touch, outside of the tenants super rap, theyre a little too subdued.

other than this, pop tastic.

Aha! Cheers. I'm a terrible judge of these things - turned em up now.

Saw my ex-boss last night and we had a few light ales reminiscing about the afternoon off we had on the day in question.. :hihi:

I'll do another one in about 5 years.. :hihi: Need to try and blot out the shame of using chorus on a 12 string acoustic. :scared:

That's actually pretty decent, given that I find British accents tend not to lend themselves that readily to the rap.

With the kids all being into trap these days, I've been asked if I'd want to rap on a tune quite a few times now. As you know, I'm not necessarily averse, but whether the results are what the kids are looking for is another question :D

I guess I'll just send them your way...
