Does this EQ need Reaktor to run?
Yes, full version, not Player.

No-go, too many clicks!

But hey, you could do a hack and remove the mid/side thing completely!!! How cool is that, huh?!

Post

Can it make you high without a downside for the midside?
That would automatically gain my harsh attenuation!

Nope, it's been made with SynthEdit.

Post

“In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.”

THD seems to be nothing more than a non-oversampled soft clipper...
I've had too much kool-aid, time to sell some licenses

Oh boy the Amek 2098 is on sale. Let me go see what they think of it on KVR. Hopefully I won't have to read to dumbest thread of all time.

My innocent thoughts before I was subjected to this nonsense.

Why are you quoting yourself on your other forum account?

Edit: Calenberger edited out the quote from his Martinjuenke account in case anyone was wondering what my post was about.

Who does need another EQ?
How many EQs does everybody have in his plugin folder?
Who recognises differences between them in reality circumstances?
Just askin‘...

People selling the stuff. We must collect them all.
Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

I have a lot. Typically two EQs will sound the same only if their "curves" (freq + q + gain) match. I listen for the different ways EQs adjust the tone of the audio. Typically those with different "curves" have a different way of affecting the audio. In a lot of analogue gear, the designer designs the nature of the curves to be, in their opinion, musical, or whatever criteria they are going for. So a good analogue model captures these characteristics. That's how I use them typically and so I have many for different tonal vibes. They can also change the texture of the audio which is another interesting and useful difference. It's not about being able to pick out which EQ is being used etc. For me it's just about the tone and character of the audio I get. Once I get to know an EQ I can then call it up when I am going for a specific sound.

Can´t agree more.

I am interested in knowing about the differences bitween this and the AMEK 200 EQ...

...in my optimistic mind I want to ask the community if someone knows AND uses both and can say a bit about the differences and if it may be a worthy additional accomplishment. I use and love the AMEK 200 EQ.

Cheers

Bought it very cheap like 29$ about 6 months ago or so. The shelf filter on it is the best of all vst EQs I've demoed and I have demoed so many plugins. The con is its too cpu hungry. Otherwise a great plugin.

i had the 2098 and sold it after some disappointment.
the saturation algo is a non-oversampled clipper, you can literally do the same saturation by slapping a clipper post-insert, except it wont alias
one of the filters - forgot which - does something extremely funky with the phase

it's a fun lil' EQ otherwise, i might have even kept this one if dirk wasn't such a dickwad
