No problem. See above I updated the screen shot. All the yellow ellipses. Click on the little square left to each little bar graph.

Gregorius wrote: Tue May 14, 2019 12:02 am Well other synths have a predefined mod matrix entry for something commonly used like a modwheel, that can be assigned to everything very quick  Here you have to open a bunch of pop ups, if you find them at all. I wouldn't call that intuitive design.
Other synths don't have a trillion parameters.
Doing it that way in MSF would mean literally getting lost in an endless list of modulation targets.
I wouldn't call that intuitive design.

Or you could just click next to the knob you're already looking at, and select the modwheel in 2 clicks and 5 seconds, as it's done in MSF.

OK. So I replaced the screen shot with a brighter one.
I can't find the modulation screen.
You can change the colour of the gui ,
If there's a text button next to a knob , just click it .

It is still in beta. And so I modulate accordingly. For instance I cannot find the at the moment the Sequence 1 editor, having assigned Sequence 1 as a modulator for a filter cutoff. Neither can I find how to access the Modulator Editor shown on page 91 of the user manual.

This said, once I find the Sequence 1 editor I will know exactly how to work with it since I've used it previously in some audio plugins.

As I've said: I modulate: this is still beta. And I've asked in the Melda forum.

Do you have any idea how little sense what you just said makes?

What does something being in beta have to do with being able to find a screen?

Know what guys? You're more frustrating than this damn UI and that's saying A LOT.

By pure accident (hit enough buttons I guess) I finally figured out the modulation system.

At least they made that easier than MPS where I had to keep reading the manual every time I used it.

The wavetable editor is still a nightmare to work with. Worst editor as far as ease of use of any wavetable synth I own. I would never use this to design a complex wavetable. At best, I'd design the wavetable in another editor and import it into MSF. Certainly not an ideal solution and I would expect better from such a powerful synth.

The post above this is likely bait, viewer discretion is advised.

It says it all, isn't it. Still in beta: development can still happen. And in this case we know that there will be more added.

He he. Relax man. It's all ones and zeroes.

I guess it could be considered as one way to generate a buzz around a new synth :D

You wouldn't be the only one. I remember Urs Heckmann asking Marcus Krause about using Icarus generated and modified waveforms for Zebra.

Use the tools you need to get the job done.

Too high a noise floor. Reading this thread is like listening to a 50's radio with a broken speaker, recorded with a cheap ceramic microphone and played back off a worn Type I cassette with no NR. through a tube made of oxidized aluminum, with a perforated eardrum. and a partial lobotomy.

Once I figures out the modulation system. everything clicked. It's like a big light went on. I can now use this like any other synth I own.

It does NOT change my opinion of the UI. I can absolutely understand people hating this thing with a passion. Being away from MPS for 4 years didn't help. But still, having worked with hundreds of synths, it's NOT supposed to be this difficult. Basically, everything is hidden. So there are only 2 ways to find things.

1. Hunt and Peck
2. Read the manual

At this stage of my life, if I have to read a manual to figure out how to use a synth, the synth's UI is poorly designed.

And yes, that is just MY opinion.

I kept seeing this stupid thread getting bumped and made the mistake of watching the video on the unison module on the first page. Suffice to say I bought it shortly after :)

I figure it's never going to have the UI/UX polish of something like Falcon and it definitely has some flaws right now, but it can also do some really cool stuff, it's still a beta, and the dev, who has a proven track record of adding to existing bundles/modular environments, seems dedicated to improving it at no cost for the life of the company. Pretty good deal for $100 in my book.
The life you have, the life you need, is not the same as the one in your dreams

You sure ? Really, really, really sure ?

Hating anything with a passion is a bit strange, if not a lot, isn't it.

3. Watch Chandler's (and David's) videos.

This said, I find that the user manual could be better made if only by factoring out common UI elements to bring focus on the app itself. À la Voxengo for instance. And I like user manuals. I play the synths, any synth, and create stuff, then at one point I decide to really delve into the functioning of a synth, reading the manual from page 1 to the end, while trying things to get the concepts well in place. While also viewing related videos, when any available. Did that recently with ElectraX.

There's nothing wrong, at all, with reading a user manual.
