Thomann shows cgrade availability in 1-2 weeks. I will not be here then, so I ordered at ms.de. Ordered yesterday, arrived today. Can't do better than that! the dongle is included. Yes, same conditions as MS.de.

Nope, usually crashes on start up or creating new tracks.e@rs wrote: Tue May 14, 2019 3:02 pmCan't talk about Cubase, but I own S1 since V1 and I don't think I had more than 10 crashes in all these years (all caused by 3rd party plugins). Do you use ridiculously high numbers of tracks in your songs or something?
Signatures are so early 2000s.

I bought the Cubase 10 crossgrade from a reseller here in the UK. Small box arrive with the code. Registered & installed. Never had give proof of eligibility even though I ad my Pro Tools invoice to hand. Only issue I had was getting no sound in the audio editor window even though everything played back fine in the arrange window. A quick visit to the forum sorted me out. Sweet.
Bye bye Protools

Great to hear, Music Store is reliable all the way.Bombadil wrote: Tue May 14, 2019 3:07 pm Thomann shows cgrade availability in 1-2 weeks. I will not be here then, so I ordered at ms.de. I was just curious in case I want to jump on the crossgrade (still scratching my head)
what the difference is between US & DE purchase.
Surprisingly not that much in total.
I also think Germans may ask their local dealers as I guess sale conditions are equal,
means price, incl. dongle and free shipping.
I wish plenty of Cubase fun after all

I'll give a quick summary of my experience.
I had to provide proof of LPX ownership.
The wrapper on the box is specifically marked 'competitive crossgrade.'
The Download Access Code specifies that it is a crossgrade, even though there is no indication of that in the 'about Cubase' window. I don't know what that portends for future upgrades, but I am not too concerned about that right now.

Did it come with a free smurf? If so, why didn't I get one!Bombadil wrote: Tue May 14, 2019 3:36 pm I'll give a quick summary of my experience.

Are you using cheap media?Tj Shredder wrote: Tue May 14, 2019 2:29 pm DVD-Rs??? I had a failure rate of 5% right after burning, they promised +20 years but the failure rate would increase every year significantly.
I have a stack of Traxdata CD-Rs that I burned in 1997, all of them still work. Similarly, I've been backing-up to DVD-R for nearly twenty years, only five disks have failed on me (three of those were due to impact damage). I've only ever used Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim DVD-Rs.
I'm lucky enough to live in a temperate climate with low humidity; that might help with CD-R/DVD-R longevity.
eh?

I had good ones, but I stoped using them maybe around 2005. Cost wise and space wise I see not a single argument for using this technology which was out of its time right from the beginning... Just imagine to fill by hand the amount of data which fits on a 1 TB hard drive. Its literally 1000 times more expensive and you would need an extra room to store them... And now get me that DVD from 2009... On the drive you get it instantly...
