Did it speed up or even change your workflow? Does it support or enhance the piano roll work which FL Studio is famous for?

Post

No.

To me FL studio just doesn't get on with me. Took a bath re-selling mine.

How is the playing of MIDI notes in keyboard on iT. I am looking to buy iT as a portable solution for a MIDI keyboard paired with my laptop

Post

It's not velocity sensitive (or at least it wasn't when I had mine)

It's built well though.

Post

still curious about your opinions...

Isn't it advertised as such?

Ghetto, in context ;)

BTW, they ARE velocity sensitive apparently but FL had not implemented this at the time. You'll have to do your own research, I'm not familiar with it anymore I just know it was cool but FL is still really confusing to me even with it.

Funny that you ask. I just stole my daughters Fire while she wasn't looking, and I'm gonna test it out right now. :hihi:

You sly bastard you :hihi:

Hahaha. She got my ass! Now she wants to use my Push 2 which she always has her eyes on. I told her that it would be fine, but only over my dead body and she threw a MIDI cable at me. :hihi:

You know? The Akai Fire is not bad at all. I mean, there are a few things I wouldn't mind having been included, biggest ones being a little bit more display real estate, and maybe a built in audio interface for when you want to go super portable (which I'm fully aware of the fact that it would come in at a higher price point which I wouldn't give a crap as long as it were a high quality build maxed out with features) but other than that, once you get it your head around it, it actually helps a lot as far as workflow is concerned. I was very surprised at how much I actually like it. I might have to add one to my collection of controllers.
