Adiós Steinberg, I can't say it was fun attempting to deal with you but thanks for showing who you are soon enough to give me the opportunity to run away from you as fast as I can.
Huge sale on Cubase 10 - 50% off for new purchases or crossgrades

I'm not desperate to become their customer. Once Best Service transfers the money back to my account, I will spend it on another, more sane company.

Best Service must have been offering a good discount because its cheaper to buy directly from the Steinberg shop.
Best Service crossgrade..... 169 euros (out of stock)
Steinberg crossgrade.......166 euros.
I paid 170 euro with free next day delivery and instant approval for the boxed version which includes the dongle (24 euro) =146 euro. (I needed a dongle).
Oh well, you went through the whole gas thing including buyers remorse and came out of it with an intact wallet

I ordered through the Steinberg website and got it the next day, sounds like the issue is with Best Service.
Signatures are so early 2000s.

Jeez! Do we have to go through this all again? It's right here in this thread!Kongru wrote: Fri May 17, 2019 12:54 pmI ordered through the Steinberg website and got it the next day, sounds like the issue is with Best Service.
Meanwhile Best Service already reimbursed me.Dear Best Service customer,
Thank you for ordering a Cubase Competitive Crossgrade at www.bestservice.com
Unfortunately Steinberg is completely overwhelmed with the (unexpected???) big success of their promotion. They have not at all been prepared for the promotion. On top of the missing stock at their European distribution center, all Crossgrade orders need to be processed and approved at Steinberg individually.
Probably it will take 1-2 weeks for us to get it approved and be able to ship to you. You will get an confirmation email from our license server as soon as available.
Sorry, I don´t have better news at the moment, but we are in constant contact with steinberg to get the earliest news.
Thanks for your patience. Don´t worry, you will get your license for sure (and you will never get it cheaper than right now), but we can't confirm a time yet.

I paid around 140€ at Best Service (download version without the Dongle) and could pay via Sofortüberweisung. Back then I thought It would take 2-3 days to get through and in the meantime I'd just purchase a dongle in a local shop here for 21CHF (which is something like 17€)dellboy wrote: Fri May 17, 2019 12:52 pmBest Service must have been offering a good discount because its cheaper to buy directly from the Steinberg shop.

No buyer's remorse at all. I really wanted it and was really looking forward to it. But now I really thoroughly dislike the company because they already treated me badly before I even was really in. Mind you: I purchased from one of their official distribution partners and paid immediately.

B.t.w.: Thomann offers a Crossgrade to Digital Performer that I can get for 220€, which is not a world more than the Cubase Crossgrade. And the included content of DP is of a lot higher quality overall, I think (which in fact might make me end up selling several plugin licences)

@jens
Yeah.. time and instant gratification... this is what we DEMAND!!!!!!
OFC, I guess in your World every thing is purrrfect... never a mistake gets made...
2 weeks wait for a DAW that'll last you maybe a bit longer than that, before moving to yet a new one (GAS_Rules), is just too long to wait, I guess.
But good to read you got reimbursed so quickly ...
Now what to buy?

Yes, exactly - that's the point - competition is strong, so they have to try a bit harder and they totally failed on me. That's all there is to it basically. Nice try to ridicule me though, fanboi!

No, I wrote I attempted to deal with them. There's a difference, genius. It's right there in the text you quoted, Einstein.rlared wrote: Fri May 17, 2019 1:17 pmYou say you were dealing with Steinberg, but you weren't.jens wrote: Fri May 17, 2019 12:30 pmWhat could your point possibly be here?rlared wrote: Fri May 17, 2019 12:12 pmSteinberg's site makes you verify eligibility BEFORE it allows you to purchase...jens wrote: Fri May 17, 2019 12:02 pm Nine days after the purchase (and immediate proof of eligibility) they still did not deliver, so I cancelled the purchase now.

My experience has been pretty smooth, so far.
Ordered without a hitch. Got email confirmation of a crossgrade within two days. Followed email link and submitted the password and committed to buy Cubase 10 via Paypal. Transaction processed and shipment of dongle confirmed the same day.
I would have preferred to avoid the installation of two download managers (I can only assume Steinberg's branded manager is actually built on Aria's?). 23Gig download was complete within four hours. I'm now waiting for delivery of the dongle.
This is a return to Cubase, for me. I sold my ancient copy years ago. I have missed it at times.
