Hi i'd like to ask some of the older users here to share opinion of their favorite vst plugins that are no longer offered and supported and what alternatives they have today.
Personally i miss Albino from Linplug/Rob Papen.
Sorry if already there is such topic, just wonder and think that will be good if more experienced users share ideas with newbies.
Thanks.

That was the one I thought of immediately as well.
CrimsonWarlock aka TechnoGremlin, Moved to Reason and Rack Extensions exclusively (from Reaper and VSTs) several years ago.

Well to start a riot it has to be all the Camel Audio plugins (Windows). I still have Alchemy and still works great. As for alternatives, probably a lot butI will leave it at that.
software is a tool that allows us to complete a given task.
social media is full of tools that distract us from a given task.

Calling Alchemy an additive synth is not giving it enough credit...VELLTONE MUSIC wrote: Wed May 22, 2019 9:06 amI've got Alchemy CM and is dope :)What kind of synth is this additive maybe,i'm substractive synthesis lover and other types are not my waters, unless the synth use them as modulationsjethrobull wrote: Wed May 22, 2019 5:34 am Well to start a riot it has to be all the Camel Audio plugins (Windows). Alchemy features additive, spectral and granular synthesis and resynthesis, sampling, and a very capable virtual analog engine with unison and PWM.

I used to like the Rapture and Dimension Pro (especially Rapture). They were like brothers, but Rapture was a cool synth and Dim Pro was more of a rompler. Then one mac update, it stopped working. I don't recall all the details. It looks like it's not available at all anymore. hmmm.
edit: it looks like it's still available as Rapture Pro from Cakewalk.

Mr Ray
Still in the KVR database, but unavailable. In any event, incompatible with x64.
This was an amazing Wurli/Rhodes emulation. Very light on CPU, and very customizable.
My favorite setting really nailed the '80's sound that was popular on so many records from that time.
I have dozens of other serviceable EP instruments, but I really miss Mr Ray. My go to now is the "suitcase" patch in HALion6, with just a touch of added reverb.
Cheers

VAZ Modular...I've tried pretty much every software modular on the market, and still haven't found one I like as much. Not a plugin, but I wish AudioMulch was actively updated, too.

Deep Mono by SonicXTC. I could dial up a killer bass patch on that thing in minutes every time, and it always sat great in the mix. You can still find the 32-bit version, but it doesn't work on my system. Deep Mono 2 was in the design stages when SonicXTC faded away.
Alas, it will never be ...

Yeah, I miss VAZ too. What a weird death. Some nonsense about taxes... as if tons of other developers can’t still make it work.Winstontaneous wrote: Wed May 22, 2019 7:09 pm VAZ Modular...I've tried pretty much every software modular on the market, and still haven't found one I like as much.
