Hi there, after a little Odyssee installing that Tool i find some little things to ask or
point to improve.

Pro:
- its works stable, in case of 20 Folders with lot of Samples i put in
- looks nice, is intuitive, clear GUI, sounds good
- some awsome features in sound searching, replacing and beat/ rhythm controlling and combining
- works like a regular drum-sequencer machine, with midi drag-drop into DAW
- high complexity, that dont need presets

Cons:
- drag the sample into daw, is only possible when u save first
- the focus should be more on rhythm and modulation, there are enough sounds
Edit 1 4/2019:
- expensive
- small gui, not resizeable

Improve:
- think about layering Samples per Slot
- let us turn the circle-rythm-patterns in the beat combiner, to reposition the rythm,
- same way build in a euclidean generator
- tie note per step,
- reverse per step,
- edit pattern lenght per slot, incl. start position
- put midi-drop and loop-drop in the task bar above, i think in most cases we just need that, without detour
- optional - add Sample-POOL-Switch to have more soundpools with specific soundsource only,
- optional - make Sample-Cloud more geometry, to identify sounds from a sampler that are similar, maybe strips, qubes explain: if i have samplepacks from "glitchmachines" i only want to use them.

Bad : Price, GUI way too small, should be resizable, at least 4 rhythm patterns ( see latest UVI drum VI )

I add this.

The price is the reason why I want to compensate it with my ideas.

You have 8 Sound-Slots.
You have 2x16 Steps with AB Mode and AAAB Mode.
What you mean with 4 rythtm patterns?

Took an entire day to scan in 2 TB of sample libraries. I decided to add another folder today & the entire database scan process basically started over. It takes way too long to scan. Sononym is much better IMO, unfortunately it doesn't have the cool cloud GUI.

Even simpler than layering samples per slot... If XO is all about identifying samples that sound alike, why not let you select some to round robin per sound slot? Even if there were only two samples per slot, the variations would be potentially really interesting and in keeping with the spirit of the instrument.

Yep, It has been a while. I've not seen anything mentioned in the beta forum. I will check in today and see if they have any updates.

So I'm now into the 16th hour of refreshing the sample database - just over 2.4Tb. I've wasted 2 days of production for the sake of efficiency. Since sample libraries are one of the most dynamic tools we use as producers I am 99.99% certain this program will not have any place in my current workflow. the option to scan selected folders only is a must in order to make it useful...

BTW: All samples are on Iron Wolf Pro HDDs connected viaThunderbolt 3. All HDDs have more than 75% space available, so HDD perforce isn't an issue. It'x XO's scanning protocol & limited options to choose specific tasks.

Can we get 10 new days to demo? I did not really demoed the program when it came out because of its very small GUI. But now that it's finally scalable on Windows, I want to demo again.
