Hi Soma, great news. I shan't ask when it's coming as it'll happen when it happens. What I will say is that I will be very pleased if I can use dub machines with less cpu and with bigger guis. I think I will buy transient machines if only to support further while your working on them.

Looking forward to this!

Don't expect a huge CPU improvement but it's there

I have played with many delays but Modnetic always stands out. Is there a pitch shift to be added to new update at all?

Post

Acousticglue... We hadn't planned it but the mood section might get a frequency shifter. Where in the chain had you imagined it?

Post

Are the delays true stereo?

Post

perpetual the delays use the stereo information and are not summed to center but they do clever stuff to the image. by the way each of modnetic's different head combinations has slightly different stereo imaging.

Yeah, I was noticing that something was special. What about the EQ filters? Just curious. You know I love your plugins and am eagerly awaiting more.

The EQ filters in Modnetic are modded after the same filters in as in a delay with 201in it's name ;)

Since my last post here I bought all Surreal Machines M4L devices, so I need MOAR M4L stuff!

I think the pressure in the VST world is for "bigger, better", while small plugins have to be given away for free for advertising, but with M4L small one-function devices are great, due to the Rack system.

Some of my favorite M4L devices are smaller ones, like Crack in Transient Machines, TNT MasterBlaster in Skinnerbox Time and Timbre ("soundgoodizer" but even simpler as it has no controls at all, pleasant surprise as I had no idea that Pack came with it) or StrangeLines BSOD (2-knob glitch FX).

So for me, a new M4L device doesn't need to be a M4L version of a new complex VST plugin, it could be small pieces of DSP from that bigger VST, in smaller M4L devices.

Small distortion device, small filters, small compressors, etc.

All welcome.

In my previous posts I focused on things Live misses, but even for things Live already has, having extra flavors would be nice (can always use some different flavor of reverb or distortion).

Hey pottering... Our next m4l device might be just the specialized little box you are after.

When I designed stuff for NI, they could be big and crazy and I'd like to go somewhere in that direction with our VSTs. When I design the devices that come with Ableton, they have to be way more focused and I'd like or M4l stuff to go (maybe even sometimes more) in that direction. The interface and the racks, as you say, help make those small tools satisfying. Whereas opening a whole UI, you kind of expect that you can do a lot more of your sound design there without having to flip around windows.

Shifting could happen with the pre or post if was implemented. Like either shifting down tone going in or delay going out. The plug doesn't need, this to shine. It already does

I like the idea of adding effects to the mod section and putting it in the feedback path as a routing option... hmmm

So any news on the long awaited resizable GUI?
It was promised a couple of years ago now...

Post

It’s working in a Dev Bild now but we are focusing on a new release first (that has the resize feature), and then plan on an update to dub machines. Most likely a free update with resize and not many new features.

Diffuse is freaking awesome tool
