Hey,
I was just randomly wandering KVR search and reviews, and stumbled upon something about this Podium sequencer.
I went to the site and had a look, viewed a few video demos, and it looks extremely impressive. Interface looks great, logical "hierarchical" mixing system, and very simple recording/bounce/freeze type facilities.
For $90 it looks excellent, the only thing i need to know is whether it has decent audio editing facilities for chopping recordings, fading in/out etc
Anyone care to comment on podium?

Podium is awesome - but I haven't really used it for audio yet (other than importing samples and arranging them)
It does have an audio editor though, not sure what you can do in it though.. double-click on a sample in the arrangement window and the editor will open. Have you tried the demo yet?
I use it with MIDI/VSTis and I have found it to be so easy to use for some reason (though most other people seem to thing it has a step learning curve coz of the heirarchic mixing engine). I love it, and I use it alot more than eXT or Tracktion these days because it feels like a complete host to me (ie it has what I need in a host)

Yip, Podium is a great bit of kit. Having been a beta tester, and now paid up license owner, I can vouch for it's stability, flexibilty, and general friendliness.
It can take a small bit of thought to start with, since it does expose parts of the audio/MIDI routing that alot of sequencers have in a black box - but this is a strength, and one I would not do without.
Anyway, those interested, go see!

Hey thanks a lot for all your comments guys, much appreciated.
I haven't tried the demo, but at the moment i frankly don't have the time, so if someone could comment on a few areas for me i'd really be grateful:
* Audio editing - Can i cut/slice/re-arrange audio clips directly in the sequencer like the audio part in EnergyXT or Tracktion for example?
* FX buses and sends - How flexible/limited are they? Also, automation - easy to use? It looks it!
* Interface flexibility - Does it have zoom like Ext/Tracktion etc so youcan get deep if you need to?
Any advice would be great. From looking at the site and video demos i was relly very impressed, more so that n with any other "traditional" style sequencer i've seen. For 90Euro its very tempting indeed, especially after someone said it gets regular updates.
Cheers folks

If you don't have time to try the demo, how are you gonna have time to actually use it?quincy wrote: I haven't tried the demo, but at the moment i frankly don't have the time, so if someone could comment on a few areas for me i'd really be grateful:

I keep hearing about this darn thing, guess I should go check it out!
I'll take it for a spin tonight. I use Tracktion and OPlat, so we'll see how (for me) it compares to those two.

Podium just looks fantastic... I've been wanting to get into it for some time now and the price certainly is reasonable. But with FLStudio,eXT & Acid I hardly need another sequencer but it's very tempting.
I would like to suggest a feature of Acid stretching in Podium... that would certainly be a coup for we who have a large collection of such loops as Acid is somewhat off the map these days.

If T2 takes much longer, and Podium keeps getting better, things could get interesting!woolyloach wrote:I keep hearing about this darn thing, guess I should go check it out!![]()

Hey.
I just finally bought this. I have been wanting it so much ever since the beta, but tight on money.. not to mention as someone who owns FL, EXT, o-pro, Dreamer, and reason-1, (and reason adapted 2.5, and Delta Live)... you can see why I felt like I had no business whatsoever buying another sequencer.
But I couldn't hold out any longer. Nothing has been the same since I beta tested Podium!!!
So I bought it.
And you know what?
It feels GOOD!!!!!

Full delay compensation for plugins as well as external hardware is already implemented, both on inserts and busses.
