I failed to read what, you implied if not stated that professionals only use teh Pro Tools.
People pay the extra money for Nuendo for features which are about their job, Post-Production which people in a bedroom don't really have much use for, VR for games, extensive features to make someone that needs a faster workflow for games because of professional requirements.

So I'm supposed to have failed to grasp something from

I mean I couldn't care a lot less than I do who does what, but I have some grasp of professional work in music for picture, for instance.

And while I've never used bitwig, its supporters are definitely the worst/ most annoying in how militant they are about bitwig being way superiour than everything else on the market

That's perception bias right there; because YOU don't 'see' it being used everywhere must mean that nobody uses it. right? While the largest part of the internet and large corporations run on Linux. What OS do you think runs most of the special effects in Hollywood. You could consider the possibility that reaper is indeed comparable to Linux in that regard as well. I bet many studios that use reaper (even in addition to protools) don't list it on their website as it is not a client magnet (but it runs somewhere close to the double track count of protools on the same hardware, so I can see the technical appeal for a big studio) .

So because you are not aware of professional use of reaper, it can hardly be something that professionals use and a bunch of guys on a forum that use (and in most cases advocate) something else INSTEAD of reaper must be the norm of course. But when I choose (and indeed advocate, why not) reaper over other alternatives, I'm a fanboy

By the way, big studios employ 'geeks' to tinker with hardware and software

In certain ways Bitwig is superior, same with almost every other DAW. But reaper being superior in any way, and that being appreciated by part of the professional audio community, can't possibly be true

Well firstly, its 'whyterabbyt' not 'white rabbit', mr crysome woundlick. ( see, i can make people's monickers wrong too, aint it hilarious )
Secondly, you're not necessarily proving yourself the least biased person when it comes to passing off confirmation bias as 'insight.'
Thirdly, you've not actually been here for two continuous decades, you keep disappearing for years at a time, so that's a little bit porky. Plus my memory, with KVR's search function with backup, indicates Ive actually had very little 'dealings' with you over the years; Inflated representation of the facts, methinks.
Fourthly, Ive certainly done some idiotic things, but Ive also done some slightly clever things too, so Im not convinced by your extrapolation. Something that isnt pulled out of your butthurt would probably be a better 'observation'.
Fifthly, your alleged 'some insight' should have warned you about the pedantry. So points 1-4 are your own fault.

lol. How did I miss this? I don't like Avid as a company personally. They really don't know how to run a company or care about their customers. For that reason, I don't like Pro Tools and the monopoly that it has over the pro scene. The software itself is not too bad but it could be so much better if they would just listen to their customers and think about more efficient ways for them to do things. They are probably the most disconnected from their consumers. I'm am not surprised that Studio One did well. They always listen to their customers. I personally like Cubase but I think that Presonus is better at listening to their customers than Steinberg but Steinberg has been getting much better at listening to their customers over the recent years, they just don't implement the requests as fast as Presonus does with Studio One.
