Hey,

I've got some audio libraries encoded in 96 kHz .wav that I would like to resample to 44 kHz, simply to save space on my hard drive and I dont notice the difference anyways (sorry audiophiles). I have izotope RX7 which can easily resample files but you can only do I believe 8 at a time so it takes forever! Anyone know an application that can safely batch convert audio files? Freeware or cheap would be nice.

Voxengo done a lot of work on doing the best resampling possible....

(that's the free one and it does do batch processing, there's 'pro' versions with more features)
my other modular synth is a bugbrand

If you have any version of Presonus Studio One, they just came out with a new batch converter. Not stand-alone, unfortunately:

Free Wavosaur audio editor has a bunch of neat options in the batch converter: https://www.wavosaur.com/

The free Studio One Prime will do that pretty easily:

1. Drop all of the files into an empty song.
2. Set Song Setup > Sample Rate to 44.1.
3. Select All and drag them all out to a folder in the browser Files tab to render them all to new files at 44.1.

I'm using dBpoweramp Music Converter, costs 35€ and it's fast and nice to use. There's also a 21-trial available which I think is fully featured. I'm not sure about other options but this one can convert multiple files at the same time on different processor cores, making conversion potentially multiple times fast compared to converting only a single file at a time. Should make a real difference if you have a huge amount of files to convert.
