I just tried that (new project, add TinyQ, change something, save, reload) and it works fine for me. Could you give more details?
You didn't mention which Reaper version you used and whether it is 32 or 64 bit. The bitbridge might cause some problems but I never tested the bitbridge as it isn't needed.
Reaper 5.978 x64 and TinyQ VST 3 x64.

The same setup works for me. Could you still give more details? For example, this is what I did:
- started Reaper 5.978/x64 on Win 10
- created new project
- loaded TinyQ 1.5.1 (VST3/x64)
- changed some settings (basically moved band handles up and down which also activated the bands)
- saved project
- closed Reaper
- restarted Reaper
- TinyQ appears with saved settings

I use Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64.

Btw, I recently discovered that this EQ introduces noise/distortion after activating any band or filter, the more active bands the more noise/distortion. Is it intentional?

Once again, please state more details. What do you need to do to reproduce the mention behavior? I find it extremely unlikely that TinyQ works fine under Windows 10 but doesn't work correctly in Windows 7.

See above. This statement as it is doesn't help very much. In VST Plugin Analyser there is neither distortion visible nor is there any significant noise floor. I can only fix bugs that I can reproduce so I really need more information.

Regarding the VST 3 bug there aren't any more details I can give you, because besides just using it, saving, closing Reaper and reopening it to find TinyQ VST 3 not saving its settings it's literally what happens, there aren't any other steps to it. Also I tried on existing and new projects, the same thing happens. Could it be because my CPU is the AMD FX-6100? Or the GPU AMD XFX 260X 1GB?

Now, about the noise/distortion: If I use a phase-null test I can see the noise in SPAN. I can also see it with PluginDoctor.

Here you can download all the pics I took on each band and comparing against ReaEQ, MEqualizer and TDR NOVA 2. There's even a Notes TXT inside: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OWcYDI ... sp=sharing

PD: Inside the ZIP file there's a pic of the VST 3 on PluginDoctor when pressing the TINY button, a bug appears, the plugin doesn't get bigger and it freezes. Given that this bug doesn't happen on Reaper, it's probably a PluginDoctor bug.

The noise is at about -150 dB. As this is lower than any noise you get in analog gear I must admit I didn't consider it noise. TinyQ internally uses 32-bit floats which leads to the noise. There is no distortion in the plots you showed, at least no distortion that is above the noise.

I attached a zipped Reaper project. Please have a look whether the plugin is also loaded blank. Every band should be enabled with a gain other than zero. Also, please provide a similar project where TinyQ won't load. You can save this project if it won't load, but a further project would also be interesting.

The settings didn't load, TinyQ VST3 was completely 0dB on all the bands and all of them were OFF.

This project I'm sending you shows the same behavior, check if the settings load to you.

The project you sent loads fine for me (all bands active, cuts deactivated). At the moment I must admit I have no idea what causes this problem. Can you check wether loading works in version 1.5.0? You can get the old version here.

Sadly, on v1.5.0 the plugin even though is detected by Reaper when opening, it's never shown in the plugin list (new and old projects) : /

Enjoying this. Thanks for the update, is the output on the way?

Order by frequency in the context menu would be nice. Quite a few times I'm ending up with freqs higher and lower than one another, would be nice to be able to sort them low to high from the right click menu. Not a must but would be useful.

Version 1.5.2 is now available on TinyQ's product page. A global gain was added (can only be set via mouse wheel and entering a value) as well as sorting bands and switching the frequency graph gain range.

@heavymetalmixer: If the vst3 still won't save in Reaper could you zip all .ini files in Reaper's settings directory (copy & paste %appdata%\reaper in Windows Explorer's address bar) and email them to me (lkjb.dsp@gmail.com). The subfolders or files within the subfolders shouldn't be needed. Please be aware that your licence will also be there (reaper-license.rk) which you shouldn't add to the zip.

Thanks for the update! Very clean and usuable EQ. Love it!
Is anyone else seeing an unusual spike on the displayed curve for bell filters with high Q?
Versions 1.5.2 and the previous version. Reaper 5.978 X64

I've also seen this but thought I was able to fix it. I'll have another look at it. If you change anything (disable/re-enable band etc) it should go away.

Post

Just to confirm: it doesn't go away when disabling/re-enabling the band.
Also noticed it gets really strange down below 30Hz, bell filter, high Q and significant boost.
Not terribly worried about it, just thought it might help you find the issue...
