Dear Police Officer. My products are being held hostage. The synthnapper (bit like a kidnapper) says that if I don't pay up I'll never see them again. What can I do?

And when you click "buy".. There's no mention anywhere about the needed cloud subs.. News section say "September 3, 2018 — Discovery updated to 4.2" and "4.x updates and 3.x or below upgrades are available at discoDSP Members Area."

Urgh, what a mess...
And people call me paranoid for backing up all my installer files since "you can just download it online again if you need it..."

Me too believe me but that is only a small part of the problem. The bigger parody is that you can't download the published free update(s). My DiscoveryPro 6.8.1 is sitting happily in my account (i have version 6.7) and when i click on download BANG! I have to pay 29 bucks despite the announcements and adverts in public where disocoDSP inform that the update is free for 6.5 and above owners and to top it all off his customers were never informed about the great cloud thing pay model *cough*cough* (guess why?) so no chance to download it like promised and still beeing promised till today. So what to think about those kind of developers?ztrauq wrote: Thu May 30, 2019 8:03 am Urgh, what a mess...

Yeah I've been doing that too ever since I found out (to my cost) that with IK Multimedia you need to 're-buy' the downloads of your purchased librariesztrauq wrote: Thu May 30, 2019 8:03 amAnd people call me paranoid for backing up all my installer files since "you can just download it online again if you need it..."

Pretty much, yeah.chk071 wrote: Thu May 30, 2019 8:35 am I always do backups of my backups of my backups. And then i back up.
I store installers, serial numbers etc. (as well as other data like photos, documents, projects etc.) on my NAS, which automatically backs up to a second NAS every night. In addition, everything also gets backed up to Backblaze B2. This cloud service costs me about $60 a year, but I store 1 TB there, where as DiscoDSP wants $29 a year to store my ~100MB Discovery Pro installer. What year is this, 1992?
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.

Just FYI; discoDSP are now trying to get moderator privileges for any thread they start outside their company forums...
