Hope that helps!
Thanks once again!
+1 Thanks for your explanation.
Thank you F.E.T. for sharing your walk-through! I found your approach to understanding Hive 2.0's function generators very useful. Your special call-out to using "Constant" for the function generator input after its initial value of "None" has disappeared was invaluable and saved me much confusion. :tu:
Glad you guys found it helpful. The "constant" thing Is a bit tricky. I suspect the next Hive update will fix it and add None to the menu, but until then, Constant does the same thing best I can tell. At least in the context of those basic instructions.

I think it will be the pinnacle of software synthesizers. Can't wait. Until then, I'll keep having fun with Hive 2, RePro and Bazille. Urs, take my money for Zebra 3.
I feel the same way. Zebra 3 would be my most anticipated software instrument by far.

Why not just buy Zebra HZ, and then Urs will have your money and you’ll have a fun version of Zebra that has Diva’s filters inside it in the meantime? It’ll seem like Santa came when Zebra 3 is released! Win-win!

So, I had a watch of the “new features” video, and I’m glad I did. I felt Hive 1 was a bit “lite” in terms of what I like in a synth like that, but v2 seems a much more mature animal. I could definitely see myself getting it during my yearly Festivus spending spree.

Meh, I've got plenty to do, for now, with those 3 plugins. I'll patiently wait for Zebra 3 sound design monster synth and get the full experience.

DuX wrote: Wed May 29, 2019 9:45 pm I'm just going to say this: u-he is the only soft-synth company that has never made a synth that I was disappointed with. From sound, stability, memory usage, to GUI and usability, that's just how things should be. Most of the soft-synth companies should learn a thing or a dozen from u-he. I think that should be praised. ;) The effort, the expertise, devotion and professionalism like this deserves to be praised.

Cheers!
And let's not forget the simple and effective copy protection too. It doesn't makes you jump through hoops or install 3rd party ****. I feel respected as a customer.
Is indeed a very good and important point in any purchase, despite I don't have any product from U-he yet, I admire and respect this; no dongles, no anual fees for "protection", no dependency of the company in order to use the software you paid for to work, no limited licenses, no Internet. The user can feel safe with their investment, saving their keys in external hardrive or memory in case of system crash, updates of system or other unfortunate situation that will/might happen in the future.

I used to steer clear of annoying levels of copy protection but since we've been collaborating with these other guys who use Cubase and other stuff that uses iLok, I've discovered that it's not nearly as annoying or restrictive as I expected it would be. In fact, I think iLok is a great way to keep track of your licenses and I wish I could use it on everything. I know that sounds weird but to have one place to go to manage all your licensing issues would be great. Having to keep a list of serial numbers up to date and where I can find it when I need it is a lot more work than iLok.

Jaqcues obviously can't resist the temptation of bringing up the licensing / copy protection debate in every second thread.

Despite warnings from the mods.

Please stay on topic and do not turn this thread into yet another licensing / copy protection debate.

As I commented on Youtube, people who expect us to do that have to be very, very patient.

(we haven't made any plans yet)

All fine. No hurry. Anyway, congratulations with Hive 2.0. I think it is a brilliant piece of art. Sound and GUI is just right and like i mentioned what stands out is also that it is just very musical in terms of playability, default presets and so on.
And thank´s again that almost all your synths offer microtuning which is a BIG plus for me. This feels more like Hive XL.

These new additions and explanations have helped my late-learner synth mind how to understand Bazille better now, as well.

I do not upgrade from Hive 1.2 to V 2.0 because

1. Hive 2 uses more CPU
2. The Mod-Tool is very restricted compared a MSEG. The user has no possibilty to change the lenght and speed of a segment in that editor and there are only 8 curves possible. In a MSEG like in Harmor you con draw with pensil 3 or 300 curves and adjust everything.
This Toy-Shit-Tool can do nothing compared to a MSEG except blinking like a baby-toy and I have tested this Hive 2 and have also VSTis with very good MSEGs
3. The distance between solo of OSC1/Filter1 and OSC2/Filter2 is much to big
4. The colorization of this Hive 2 is awfull in my view

I am satisfied with Hive 1.2 for what it does and for what I am using it.
