I have everything except the new snapins (2), phase plant and fatuator. my upgrade options are $118 Phase Plant, $145 PP+2 snapins, $165 PP+snapins+fatuator. FYI. It looks very nice. Slick UX/UI, based on the video. I'll fire up the demo if I decide to buy it based on trying it. :tu: :phones:

Same. Not sure what happened there. Can't recall any news.

It's pretty neat, the sampler is pretty nice, pseudo granular is sounding good.

It allows you to apply all the effects in a lane to each voice individually, even giving each voice unique random values from the Random modulator etc. <--- this is just so awesome! Per voice fx is truly underrated. I know Falcon can do it and i love it
That's pretty impressive. Per voice effects is pretty rare. I can do that with Omnisphere when using multi-mode and having each one respond to a different midi channel and using an mpe type setup. Problem is that after every tweak you have to copy across the layers again. Repro has per voice distortion which is nice and Falcon I remember had a few effects per voice, but not all. Definitely an excellent feature.
I found a workaround in falcon for that;
Just use an effectrack and fill that with which fx you want. The effectrack and it's contained fx are per voice :tu:

Its a great synth, but definatly needs some learning curve to do basic things! Here are some first impressions from first 10 minutes.

Initial sound and osc unison are great. I tried to modulate pitch with envelope. I dont know if i did something wrong but it sounded not like i expected. Like almost there was no modulation but constant. Anyway will check that later.
Routing. I dont understand well how routing works. Lets say if 2 oscs has its gain. One is feeded to another and you cannot really control the first osc gain. I tried using mix but that didnt solved the problem. Apearently opening the manual is required :-D
Global unison - is it only my first initial impression or synths unison engine is actually same new ensamble module? Because it sounds like it.
New ensamble module alone is really good.
Sample and wavetable content is nice so far. Tho i didnt see any presets for real instruments of samples that kilohearts included (choirs, brass, strings ect).

Also i have mixed feelings about that if you want fully utilise the synth you have to have all the effects. Well its sort of fair on one hand but basic effects definatly should be included like phaser, flanger, reverb, distortion along side free snapins. Because right now i see this as an alternative to something like Serum, Dune, Hive, Massive and those as a package offer a better deal. Actually serum comes with fx version wich is very good.

Well these are initial thoughts. Will play around with this when ill have more time and if trial wount be expired.

I quite like this synth. It has a bit of everything. But i miss a modmatrix, especially considering how fast you got 20+ mods assigned..

It reminds me of zebra. Stacking osc's on 1 lane is very cool. Seperating them between lanes is possible as well.

I do think they should ship this synth with a bit more fx units..

Looks like a great synth, shame about the short demo though. 10 days isn't really long enough to properly road test something so complex. I can't help but feel that such a short demo period is a deliberate attempt to push people towards a subscription just to be able to really put this thing through it's paces. I appreciate that they're a small company trying to compete in an overcrowded marketplace and that they have to make ends meet, but it's kind of a dirty trick (and one that I will likely fall for because I can't justify parting with 200e after only a few hours of testing, woe is me I know  )

I personally wouldn't really go as far as calling it a dirty trick. I guess each dev has its own idea of what's most effective.

With that said, something like 90% of my plugins, I bought them months (sometimes years) after installing, with occasional demoing here and there.
The remaining 10% are cases of compulsive buying disorder, usually on quite low prices anyway.
I'm perfectly fine with demos with no parameter recall and farting every 25 seconds, by all means unusable for any actual project, although still good for testing the plugin capabilities.
Demos expiring in a matter of 10-20-30 days, sadly I usually don't even download them.

Dirty trick is perhaps a little strong, it's just not great. I'm the same in that I don't really like time-limited demos at the best of times, but such a short demo coupled with a subscription option just doesn't sit quite right. I'm not against subscriptions either, I just feel that kHs are really forcing your hand here, it's either impulse buy after 10 days or cough up for a sub, just to be able to properly try it i.e. beyond the first few hours of 'new and shiny toy wow factor'. Of course khS don't owe me anything and they can choose how they wish to bring thir products to market, it's just a shame that I will have to pay to able to decide whether or not I want to pay for it...

wagtunes wrote: Thu May 30, 2019 2:47 am Okay, I need a little help. Back in March of 2018, I purchased the Ultimate EDM bundle that contains all the FX snaps. I went to the site and I don't see any discount or upgrade options for customers who already own all the snaps.

Am I missing something or is this just the way it is?
And what purchase options are you seeing? As an owner of The Works bundle (so everything, except PP) I can get it for EUR118 the cheapest, or EUR142 with 2 new FX snapins (Ensemble & Flanger, each costing EUR29 individually). Comparing to cheapest option for a new client incl. just the PP and otherwise free 6 Snapins + Snapheap costing EUR169 it's not a lot, I agree. But it's still there.

Well, I watched the videos. It's obviously very in depth. I just don't need it with everything I have. But I have no doubt this will be a big seller.

But it is different. In Serum or Hive I don't think you can add effects to particular oscillators or specified frequency band of oscillator(s). It's obviously not as flexible as VCV or Reaktor, but allows for more nuanced routing than the fixed-function synths.

jeffb01 wrote: Thu May 30, 2019 2:41 am They say you can still use the effects even if you don't own them, but you can't tweak them. I wonder what that means. Do you think that if I add the formant filter, I can't switch the vowel. I can't tell because the demo unlocked everything...
I think this mostly just means you can use presets with snapins you don't own.

Yeah, I think they need to do something about the modulation/crossmod. Right now it seems like all you get is a tiny little popup telling you where a modulation pie goes when you mouse over (and, if there are two pies going to the same param on different component instances, e.g. the mix on two different flangers, the popup is identical). It can be hard to tease apart a complex existing patch like that. Maybe a good option would be, when you tweak a modulation pie, automatically jump to the parameter that pie controls, unminimizing the component if necessary.

This looks pretty cool and ambitious for sure, well done! I'll probably try the demo, but personally will probably not end up buying it. From a brief look, it seems like the filter section will be in the snapin part? (not liking that tbh) I'm not a fan of the snapin business model but otherwise would love to have multipass (awaiting the multiband byome to fill that gap though). For this kind of synth toolbox situation I'm already pretty happy with Zebra 2 and especially Dark Zebra which has all the Diva filters too + a whole bunch of other filters (something I've been using more lately). What I do like is that there doesn't seem to be any limits on how much you can do in terms of adding another adsr or mod map, that's a big plus for sure. I also really like how it keeps everything pretty standard with the UI, so it's gonna be quick and easy to get around I would guess. The bottom part reminds me a bit of how fabfilter have done their creative effects and the Twin 2 synth. Overall, looks very impressive!
