Received the following newsletter yesterday, seems Future Audio Workshop is cooking up something new. I've had quite some fun with Circle2.

EDIT: It's a new subbass-focused 808-ish synth called SubLab.

All details have been posted on the official site now (https://futureaudioworkshop.com/): it's SubLab, a sub-bass focused tool mainly for hip-hop-related genres. Not super-exciting but could be good.

Think I can do most of this in Kick 2 already but with tighter control of the envelopes. Still, looks like a pretty nice tool and the GUI is nicely laid out.

Lol. Yeah that was my first thought too, Halon...but I might reserve judgement until I get a chance to try it out. For the intro price of $40 it could be worth it for a simple sub kick synth, but the regular price of $70 is too much in my opinion.

..."two or three plugins" to widen the stereo of a bass track? Really?
Um, sure. Whatever floats your boat, FAW.

Wasn't that 808 "thing" some years ago when you couldn't open any music related webpage without overflooding "your best only 808 subboombapwikkidibass synth you'll ever need" commercials etc? FAW is a bit late for that party..

But the synth looks nice. Much better than 90% of the offerings back then. Maybe even 99% better.

No demo and not for Win 7 ?
More BPM please

I think 40$ is too much for something like this :hihi:

why would anyone want to widen the bass? i thought the direction was pretty much the opposite, with various mono-makers etc.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Hey guys,

Gavin here from FAW.

Just on the wide bass, it is a hip-hop production technique. Sean Divine explains it better than I ever could in this youtube video.

On SubLab, we tried to make it as clear as possible on our site that it is *solely* aimed at hip-hop and trap producers. If you're making other types of music then it is not built with you in mind.

What may be interesting to KVR, is that while developing SubLab we finally implemented resize-able GUI for Circle2 and some more improvements, with that update coming soon. Also we'll be releasing SubLab's X-Sub oscillator as a free plug-in *very* soon. Workflow for that is you duplicate the midi track you have for your main synth bass-line (massive serum or circle2 etc) and then insert X-Sub on the new midi channel and you have accurate sub-bass under your main bass. More on that when it is ready to go!

Thanks,
Gavin.

Works for me on Win7! Didn´t read the system requirements accidently.
But... works :)
