I’m going to check this out when I get on my computer. I have their Reference plugin and it’s quite helpful. I’m not a fan of these “auto-fix” plugins. I know this is just a fancy EQ plugin but rather do adjustments on tracks via EQ/compression/etc...
If I buy this plugin, which will most likely happen, I’ll probably use it as a reference as well, and adjust at track level. Rather fix it at the source.
Weird that this plugin isnt listed on their site yet.

Looks kinda gimmicky, tbh. Hiphop King? Expensive Pop Genius?
So it's an EQ. Without proper monitors and room treatment, it's still gonna be guesswork.. just involving brightly colored blocks.
You're also not going to miraculously save your muddy mix on the master channel.

The selling point seems to be the phase response which is not guesswork it's math. And 99% of people listening to the music won't have proper monitors so it's better to get it sounding good on cheaper speakers anyway.

Which ones to target though? What's the standard in sub-par sound these days? Alexa? Iphone? Beats by Dre? Hence.. still guesswork. Linear phase magic or no linear phase magic.SoundPorn wrote: Fri May 31, 2019 6:31 pm And 99% of people listening to the music won't have proper monitors so it's better to get it sounding good on cheaper speakers anyway.
Still looks like a kind of linear phase eq with a nice but gimmicky GUI, terrible preset names and a lack of control compared to my go-to eq. That's me, though. If to you it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, that's good too.

Downloading the demo.I learned that approaching these things with an open mind can sometimes have it's rewards. Some of the stuff that has come out that I was most skeptical about I ended up using the most. I have some free plugins I originally had thumbed my nose at that I ended up using more than some of my paid ones. It goes that way sometimes.
If you have talent and some imagination, you can use virtually anything that's out there so I never limit my possibilities by being too dismissive of new things.

I have mixed feelings about this. The plugin tells me that I have not enough information in the 0-20 Hz range. Not sure how useful that actually is.

Well, boost it in that range and see what you think. No matter what the plugin says, it's still subjective in the end.mgw38 wrote: Mon Jun 03, 2019 6:37 pm I have mixed feelings about this. Humans generally can't hear frequencies below 20Hz. I guess it is time for a subpac then.dblock wrote: Mon Jun 03, 2019 6:42 pmWell, boost it in that range and see what you think. No matter what the plugin says, it's still subjective in the end.mgw38 wrote: Mon Jun 03, 2019 6:37 pm I have mixed feelings about this. True. Maybe what the plugin is saying is more a technical suggestion than what you would actually hear. To be honest, the price alone is kind of telling me don't expect too much from this plugin.mgw38 wrote: Mon Jun 03, 2019 6:49 pmHumans generally can't hear frequencies below 20Hz. I played around with it a bit. And while I must say that this is not the most impressive plugin ever produced it ended up having some value.
I am still not sure why they separate at the 20Hz range. My feeling is that anybody who needs the sculpt in that range probably has a studio setup and a level of professionalism that would make this plugin fairly useless. And anybody who is not at that level, on the other hand, will most likely not be able to use that information in any meaningful way.
I also find the GUI annoying. The marketing spin that this is an "immersive 3d room display" is an insult any any skilled UX designer out there. And I am speaking with a certain level of professional knowledge. A plain GUI would have been much better.
But the plugin did provide me with some helpful information in the range above 20 Hz. I am at a skill level where get the basic mix right but still need a little help in the mastering grade EQ adjustments (1db here, 0.5 db there,...). Bassroom was helpful in that respect.
I did not use it as an adjustment tool, rather as an analysis tool. Once I knew what was off I went back into the mix and made the adjustment at the track level. But I have to admit, it did sound better afterwards even though the adjustment were pretty small.

Thanks for the info. As far as te 20hz stuff, you can't hear it but you can feel it. I have a pair of Genelec 2020 monitors and the sub that goes with it and when I master my tracks I find that what I think is the right amount of bass on the monitors is way too much on the subs where they are boomy and irritating.Based on how you describe the plugin, it may serve to tighten that range up a bit without sacrificing a good tight low end above 20kz.mgw38 wrote: Mon Jun 03, 2019 8:59 pm I played around with it a bit. I downloaded the demo but haven't tried it yet.
