I know I have mentioned this on the forums before, but I have used Reason within Cubase for more projects than I can count. I love how it works, I love the workflow of both DAWs and REWire introduces a new layer for creativity. As Cubase has grown I have been using that combination less, however I love the results when I go back to it occasionally.

I always rewire reason to Cubase, but I only use it occasionally, I don't use it without rewiring. I don't mind the process at all and I always bounce before mixing. I find it handy, I wouldn't use reason at all otherwise.

I rarely (pratically never) use Reason, so there are very few occasions for me to use Rewire.

If I use Reason for songwriting, I don't use Rewire from the start, it's something I would use when I'm close to mixing the song (which I would do in Cubase) or if I want to continue the writing in Cubase.
Anyway I work almost exclusively in Cubase, so I use Rewire only if I need a Reason device in the project (which is quite uncommon for me; I have enough plugins and hardware to do the job without any need for Reason).

When I use Rewire, I commit to audio as soon as the song structure is consolidated, so the project doesn't have to rely on two software working side by side.
I don't throw away the Reason project (of course!), but I prefer keeping the whole session inside one software instead of two; it's easier to manage.
