Native Instruments Massive X Synth - Sequel to Massive (Out Now!)

I like Massive but seldom use. I'm resisting buying this thing from VSL which I have a very lite version of which sounds unbelievable (Smart Spheres), for 139 USD which is going to obviate anything but a fantastic price on any of the NI. It's very special (big sound design capacity), mere synths are rather meh for me in comparison.
This is not a great time to buy for me.

CPU isn't a big thing here, I don't use tonnage of instances of one synth, that seems pretty lame.
I did two Kontours in a rather large orchestration recently and it had to be managed.

Rendered it sooner rather than later, disabled the channel in VE Pro but I want to keep versions of it intact because disabling loses the Host Automation. VE Pro now shows you how much each instance is using and the instance with two Kontours was significantly the highest, more than an instance with 3 huge BFD3 kits with like 30 cymbals and the long tails.

It uses the AVX extensions so that should help but it does mean you have to have a CPU that supports them.simon.a.billington wrote: Mon Jun 03, 2019 7:51 am What I'm really wondering about on this one is the CPU hit.

Is AVX mandatory to run it?agharta wrote: Mon Jun 03, 2019 10:42 pmIt uses the AVX extensions so that should help but it does mean you have to have a CPU that supports them.simon.a.billington wrote: Mon Jun 03, 2019 7:51 am What I'm really wondering about on this one is the CPU hit.

Seems to be the next big trend. The recently released Legend update, 1.3, also requires an AVX compatible CPU.

AVX's been there for about 8 years...
