I just tried Freestyle by Sonic Arts, but I couldn't figure out how to setup 2 keyboards, so that one keyboard controls one instrument on midi channel 1, while the second keyboard controls another instrument on midi channel 2. And even more strange, though my Novation Launchkey seems selected as "port", it doesn't play any note while the other keyboard (midiplus X3) plays both instruments at the same time while not selected as "port". And even if I click on "X3" fort the port, it reverts to "Launchkey".

Update: I dug a little bit deeper into Usine Hollyhock, and found 2 ways to use the grid for fast selecting/switching between songs. In both cases you have to create presets: patch presets, or rack presets.sguyader wrote: Sun Jun 02, 2019 9:40 pm I thought I could use the "grid" system to load racks/presets, having 1 grid section per song, but for some reason if I have 6 racks in the project it play them all at the same even if I put only 2 racks into the grid.
The pros of using patch presets is that when you switch to a new song, the GUI of the patch changes accordingly and reflects the state of the preset (useful if you gave customized the UI with some knobs/faders/buttons, you can see their settings).
The cons is that when you save patch presets, it doesn't save which keyboard (or MIDI input device) you want to use. It is important because sometimes for a VST, I want to play it from one keyboard in one song, and from the other keyboard for another song.
The pros of using rack presets is that the state of input devices is saved along the preset, so when you can setup your setlist so to use different keyboards for different songs for the same VST.
The cons is that when you switch to the next song, the GUI of the VST is not changed, it doesn't reflect the current knob/fader/button settings played by the VST.
I'm sure there's a simple way to solve both issues, but I haven't found it so far (I'm still learning Usine HH).
FYI, I exposed the issues to the Usine community forums, I hope I'll get help from there: http://www.sensomusic.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=6466

Update #2: In fact it works really with with one VSTi per rack, and by dropping the racks in the grid sections, just make sure to create presets for your instruments and save those presets as rack presets. Then when you drop a rack in the grid, select the preset you want to load in the "recall preset on activation" list. And voila!
