so this KVR forum is now a place where people complain about and discuss pricing? i wonder if there’s a way to have two threads for products... one about non functional issues like pricing or policy and one about how things work and what they do. i really don’t enjoy thread after thread of complaints and grousing about cost. it’s boring.

We finally got a Wide Mode working on LION based on this frequent request. It came too late to add it to Triad for release, but we will try to get it added to Triad and BYOME in the next round of updates.

May I ask when -roughly- this is going to happen? (This is the one thing that makes/breaks using byome/triad enjoyable/painful for me)

Will it also make the betas you occasionally upload to circumvent the apparently rather slow PA update process?

Is it just me or does this look incomplete/rushed?

- There don't seem to be any factory presets specific to Triad in my install? (Windows 8.1 x64, VST2 & 3)
- Byome presets always land on the low band when loaded from the main preset menu, which usually is not what I want.
- I can't drag and drop effects between the bands? Why?
- If I apply a Byome preset directly to a band, it's missing the modulators in the preset, so currently I seem only to be able to use Byome presets on the low band in their full glory by loading them via the main preset menu?
- It's great that I can scale the GUI, but why can't I make it wider? Would definitely be welcome with a couple of effects in a row in this kind of plugin...

Hi Tom, I received your PM as well, but I'll answer them here publicly!

-There should be a large number of Triad-specific factory presets. PA have had issues with the installers previously. I would try re-installing to see if that fixes it. -BYOME presets always get loaded to the Low Band. However, you should investigate the Permutation feature! It allows you to quickly rotate and shuffle the bands. The current Permutation does not get changed when loading BYOME presets, so you can "rotate" the low band to, say, the mid band and BYOME presets will get loaded there instead, if that makes sense. We found this to be a lot quicker then having a BYOME preset loading options menu.

-We would like to get drag-and-drop implemented. As a workaround, we added in a number of cut/copy/paste/duplicate features per-row and per-module.

-Yes, loading the BYOME preset directly to the band imports the effect setup, but leaves modulation alone. The Permutation preset load is the best way to go to get the full setup.

I didn't have a single Factory or NKS preset on my system, the folders were simply empty. I downloaded and installed today with the PA installer. So I assume the installer is broken. I did only install 64 Bit VST/VST3 though? I don't use NKS.
I also do not have Factory presets for the Bands, only User Presets that seem to be identical with the Byome Presets in the main Preset Menu.
And the effects themselves also do not have presets if I click on the burger menu and choose Load Preset. I don't know if that is how it's supposed to be or not?

I overlooked the Permutation feature in the docs it seems and in the dark GUI it's almost impossible to see. Please give those arrows and the number more contrast!
And I have to say I do not like the way that's implemented at all, since it doesn't move the rows but basically just changes their name, which is super non-intuitive IMO. Having LOW MID HIGH from bottom to top makes sense in a brain-friendly way and is easily read. Shuffling that order around will make it totally confusing what's what.
It would be much better if the effect rows themselves would move around, that is what I would have expected to happen...
And since there is a Band-Preset-Menu anyway that shows the Byome presets already, why not at least try to load their modulation.
This really feels unfinished and not well thought out. Many presets make no sense at all without their modulations.
I could also live with - when loading a Byome preset from the main menu - being asked on which band to load it. Would still make more sense and allow to load more than one without much fuss.

Copy and paste is much more clicks and not very intuitive ATM since I can't directly paste an effect but instead have to first create a default effect and then replace that (at least I haven't found a way to do that quicker yet). Copy and paste also loses the modulation which - again - is really really bad in a tool like Triad. Drag and Drop needs to be there and modulation needs to be kept intact. A modifier key should toggle between Copy and Move. That is UX 101 really in 2019.
In the same vain I also have to agree with the other poster who found it pretty strange that instead of inserting the desired effect right away one has to create a default and then exchange that. Really convoluted and non-intuitive. I want a menu to open when clicking on the + sign, everything else is really cumbersome.

The permutation does not allow me to add several BYOME presets into separate rows without losing modulation. Again, makes not sense at all IMO.

Good to hear that a wide mode will come. On my 75" 4k monitor it's quite silly to have all that space wasted....

Do I still need to create a ticket with PA or can you directly look into those things?

I'd really like to like Triad but so far it isn't convincing.

Yep! We will keep up with the public beta process. Having more users on these builds really helps us find more issues. I'm hoping that we can get a beta up within the month, as the Wide Mode code already works in LION. It will be easy to directly port it to BYOME, but we'll have to do some extra coding to accommodate the combination of wide and tall modes for Triad.

Although I can't install the VST2 I can install the VST3. I can confirm Tom's report that all the presets are missing.

More things:
- Triad does not save the scale of the GUI. When I close the plugin window and re-open it it is back to the small default (Bitwig Studio). On my large monitor that is quite a bit of a pain...
I'd also like to save a certain view as default, like always seeing the effects when opening Triad.

- I now tried the standalone installer from the website. No Factory presets anywhere either (other than the ones you posted), only the BYOME user presets. I don't know if that is correct, but there is also just a VST3 in the standard folder, no VST2x although the installer shows that as an option?
Is it somehow possible to get a zip with ALL presets for ALL levels (and where to put them)? Thanks!

- Why would I want to have the bypass button in the settings dropdown? I can bypass in my DAW of course, but what is the thinking behind this?

I'm happy to test a new version if you want some sanity check - this one seems rather borked.

triad works in ableton, cubase, reason on windows 7. in reason 10.4 on windows 10 (1903).

but in maschine, if you choose a preset within triad itself, after two times, it crashes maschine.

via NKS browsing no prob, but also then if you change a preset within triad itself, it crashes.. maschine.. maschine 2.8.2

by the way byome behaves itself now in reaper, the new update via PA. (quite new to PA, don't one get updates about updates?)
