It wasn't there until one or two weeks ago. It silently sneaked itself in.Bleulander wrote: Sun Jun 09, 2019 1:25 pm I never even seen that In the thread title, I guess I wasn’t looking hard enough.

That's way too bad; oh well.EvilDragon wrote: Sun Jun 09, 2019 7:56 amIt won't even install on a non-AVX computer.
And it does eat CPU.
I don't see spending $3K US to upgrade the laptop just for AVX software, so I guess I'm out of the loop now. Will save me money.

I've seen no reason to upgrade the old MacBook Pro laptop, particularly for the overpriced garbage Apple puts out now.Elektronisch wrote: Sun Jun 09, 2019 6:59 am Im surprised that someone actually still uses a PC/laptop from 2009 for music production, since it could barely hold more then few modern vsts.
My last cpu was Q9450 (or9550) wich was 2010 and it could barely hold well average amount of instances Dune 2, Spire. I can only imagine what a piece of crap should be something older then thatI can only guess what you would must be thinking if you are naive to expect a modern VST from 2019 would hold on something that is 10 years old

Also to get a modern PC that will surpass few times an old will conly cost few hundred dollars that you would spend on something like omnisphere. For the price of massive x you could get a used PC with AVX compatible CPU.
No judgement, carry on.
Maybe I'll just replace it with a cheap Skylake Win10 machine at some point, yeah.

The power inefficiency of old computers makes them more harmful to the planet, per note, than newer computers. Yes, we have to dispose of them.
In any case, it's not my shame, and even though I know that you're joking, I'm not going to own it. Send me a text message when they've taken down all those billboard signs with giant lights that litter the U.S.
A sub $500 mini pc will run rings around an old pre-AVX Mac. Buy yourself a copy of Vienna Ensemble Pro and live the high life by using BOTH COMPUTERS AT THE SAME TIME!
