"Cannot be discounted further due to a voucher" would generally mean, "because you are using a voucher (the discount code), this cannot be discounted further", not specifically "you cannot use a voucher to discount this further". A consistent interpretation would be that it increases the % dynamic discount, but that discount % only applies to other parts of the order, not to Triad.

But since they clearly seem to have made a mistake in offering $49 Triad to people who don't own Byome (at least that contradicts what their email says), this wording could be a mistake as well....

I passed on BYOME but I'm demoing this.
$49 is an insanely good price and I'm really trying to like this, but I'm also thinking that getting kicked in the nuts at audio-rate could be less painful than having to constantly use those two horizontal scrollbars. WTF :(

Just tested my theory:

"Thorn V1.2 $99Delete Item TRIAD $149Delete Item
SUBTOTAL $248
TRIAD for $49 (Code: triad49-aksj12347ljahsd) -$100
Dynamic Discount (20% of $99) -$19.80"

Clearly the Dynamic Discount only applies to Thorn, not Triad. So the text could just mean that the Triad discount is in the form of a voucher and therefore dynamic discount % doesn't reduce the price of Triad, though adding Triad increases the dynamic discount % which reduces the price of other products.

Ah, I see what you mean. Hopefully you're right. I'd buy it with my voucher but $50 is a no-go since I have BYOME already.

edit: just saw your test of the theory. Looks like you are, in fact, correct. Cool!

Here's a comparison of crossover phase plots for UA Triad and BC MB-7. I took factory defaults for both, with the following changes:
. Removed default effects on Triad
.Set MB-7 to 3 bands, split at 700Hz and 7Khz to match Triad

Triad in bright green, MB-7 in magenta.

EDIT: Worth adding a comparison of the slopes of the respective 24dB filters. Triad in red, MB-7 in magenta:

SLiC wrote: Sun Jun 09, 2019 6:20 pm They literally just added a 3 band splitter to BYOME which still isn't even bug fixed and no they are trying to sell it to me as a new product! Given how long we have waited for bug fixes this should have been a free point update, not a new product.

And it seems anyone can buy Triad for 49 bucks, so BYOME now has almost no value on the second hand market....

I think I will just avoid this company in future.
Clearly the initial pricing seems to be a mistake for non-BYOME owners. Still though, I'm inclined to agree with you on this sentiment.

I can also load BYOME into Blue Cat MB-7 and split it into more bands, if desired. I'll probably pass on this for a while. It just seems like a bait and switch to get people to do a paid upgrade while waiting on needed improvements and bug fixes for BYOME. Hopefully UA doesn't leave BYOME in the dust.

They just released a Byome update and have already announced they hope to get a new public beta out in the next month to address the last few concerns and implement a widescreen mode.

One of the things TRIAD allows for is to modulate the crossover frequencies. I was playing around today and making some presets, and used modulated/dynamic crossover frequencies on a few patches. That wouldn't be possible in MB-7+BYOME.

Ah, I missed that. Just ran my installation manager and got the update. It was a long time in the making!

I still think $49 is a bit much for what essentially amounts to adding a band splitter into BYOME.

By the way, the new GUI (since the most recent plugins) really got improved (while staying in the same kind of design) :)
Will older plugins (like Fault, Dent, etc) get a similar facelift at some point ?
Well such questions have been asked at Byome release as well. Also, same modulators... It did not happen. IMO UA are not too perfect in caring for their old plugins. There is a lot that could be done. Quality of life stuff. Drag+drop fx in Specops... A lot has been asked.
As for Byome, I am not even sure if a new version after 1.0 exists. I know there was a beta. But idk, I somehow never recognize if interesting things happen at Ua/pa.

Selling Triad for 49 to non Byome users is kicking Byome users balls.

There's been a very recent BYOME update and the reptile says it will continue to be supported alongside Triad.

"Supported". Whatever that means.

There will be more development to Byome including a wide screen mode. Michael has already said so. That's on top of the update that just came out yesterday to Byome. It hasn't been abandoned.
