I'm sure Dennis is able to give you an answer himself, but I'd just like to point out that it's not uncommon for some software producers to to develop their programs/products in a "rolling" fashion..meaning the project is an "on-going" development, not marked with completed versions, but major updates from version to version instead. In this case, it seems the planned additions..when included or added to the current version..are more than worth the generous discounted upgrade price offered to current owners.

I know the bugs are a pain, but I suspect Dennis will get these sorted out..at least, I hope he will and I hope they'll be addressed in this planned v.2.

For what it's worth, I don't know Dennis and I've never met him, but I do own a lot of his software and am and have been very happy with the same. The guy has been a producer of good quality tools for some time now and my dealings with him and his company have always been nothing but good..and I think that should count for something, shouldn't it?

The one thing that does slightly concern me is he does seem to have a lot going on at the moment, with more than a few projects running at once and I hope he doesn't "over-stretch" himself too much, resulting in a slipping of his usual standards.

Regarding the "One-Time KGM v2 upgrade offer"...

Where it states:

"This is what is confirmed and what you can expect from KGM v2:"
"no need to use template kontakt instruments (guided kontakt instrument design)."

Does that mean, what I think it means?

We won't have to use an included, stock Kontakt template (and be limited by its design).. and can use our own, custom Kontakt instrument builds?.. and still have them sync up to KGM, as if it was an included stock template?

And, if so.. will you be able to tweak and build the instrument, run KGM.. and build in the GUI as you go? Simultaneously? Because.. that would be amazing.

I just have no idea how KGM would be able to follow along, as you change the instrument design real-time.. and seamlessly sync up as you add more GUI elements. So, maybe that's not gonna happen..

Thought the Beta for v2.0 was supposed to happen in March?

No word from Rigid Audio.. and neither the original, or the 2.0 promo is linked from their front page (or anywhere else on their site) anymore.

Did it get abandoned? Did I just blow a bunch of cash supporting this thing through "special" pre-order/upgrade pricings?!

KGM v2 is in the works! A first beta version is scheduled for May.
The website will be updated very soon - apologies for that... sometimes, 24 hours aren't enough

And the pre-paid money for fabulous v. 2 upgrade is gone. It was a scam, nothing else. Lesson learnt. Frigid Audio isn't going to see any more business from here.

You might have seen his Kontakt instruments, priced around 99 bucks going on "sale" for around two bucks…

At the ridiculous sale prices, many of the Kontakt instruments are very useful. But I've always thought the GUI Designer sounded overly ambitious and have shied away from it.

Is KVR aware this scam is going on, and willing to host such activity ?????

I've always wondered if it was true or if people ended up being refunded. Chargebacks can be made if you bought with a credit card many months after purchase. This is something I would do. Selling vaporware is illegal.
