Wearing white socks to the Disco was ''illegal''. You would be refused entry (to the Disco).
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

The 80s were my teenage years. Compared to many, I grew up living under a rock. I lived/live in a weird part of Silicon Valley... out in the country, surrounded by people riding horses, but also Steve Jobs and Larry Ellison has houses here, to name a few. We couldn’t even get cable until the mid 90s, so I totally missed MTV. I was dependent on Friday Night Videos and Live105, the one radio station that played “modern rock” as they called it. Earlier, maybe from 82-83, I would run home from school for for the half hour TV show “MV3” which played Human League, Eurythmics, Talk Talk, Duran Duran, and so on. British music seemed so weird and wonderful, futuristic and alien. It wasn’t until decades later when I could see Top of the Pops on YouTube that I fully realized how mainstream this pop music actually was. I have very little love for American pop music of the decade (Huey Lewis, Bruce Springsteen, etc.), except that now it feels so nostalgic, and I find myself singing along to songs which I hated when they were popular. As soon as I could drive and had a job, I spent my time scouring the import record shops for those hard to find singles from the UK and Europe.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

When you're finished with that .... 80's ... is incorrect too. Try 80s or eighties etc.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.
