Yeah the three were added to the 'Not Installed' section of my Native Access too when I upgraded to K12

If less is more, imagine how much more MORE will be.

Its not W10 only is it, I was having problems launching it? (before I got sidetracked when my whole Kontakt drive got corrupted)

This drove me crazy too. Just installed the KU12 update and couldn't find those instruments anywhere.

Looked everywhere. Rebooted Kontakt 6. Searched my NI folder. Kept going back to Native Access. Nothing.
Odd, I got them through native access, doing a K11-->K12U upgrade.
I've just got the hard disk from a 3rd party vendor. I added the serial to Native Access and the various products then showed up in my account, minus Etheral Dreams etc.

I immediately got an e-mail from NI telling me Ethereal Dremas etc could be downloaded.

Closed Native Access, reopened it and the extra products have been added to the "Not Installed" tab.

Ah, I went download-only....

What is the Creator package? I assumed that it was tools for those that would like to create new Kontakt instruments, and thus not something I would be interested in. Is there more to it?

Cheers

I think your understanding of the creator package is correct. I didn't install it as I figured it wasn't for me.

I, too, have not gotten my voucher yet.

My old W7 laptop runs it just fine.

Just a question: Kontakt (even Kontakt 6) has very limited capabilities in what concerns Granular Synthesis right? To have something really manageable and minimally powerful in that chapter, one has to get some third party package like Granulator 2, from Fracture Sounds.

Or am I missing something? May I get something like Granulator 2 without scripting?

You're not missing anything. Tone Machine in Kontakt is a (very old) granular engine with very few controls. For anything more advanced, it has to be scripted (like what you mentioned, or Straylight).

Hopefully at some point we get more options for granular. On the other hand, Absynth does an interesting form of granular...

Well, solved at last! Via NI chat support (very nice guy). It turns out it was a question of jumbled serial numbers, or smth (I use bootcamp, still have Komplete 9 on OSX, updated to 12 on Win partition only). I don't know wheter this was the reason or not, actually. Anyway, thanks to excellent NI support the issue has been solved in less than five minutes! Great company. Needless to say it's worth it.

Yes, Absynth is very interesting in that aspect. And Straylight sounds very promising, but I don't want to spend what they are asking on something that I expect will end up in Komplete sooner or later.

It's surprising that they launched Kontakt 6 without updating the built-in granular engine. I am still at 5, but I will probably update my Komplete this month, taking advantage of the special price. I checked Kontakt 6 and I can't help but feeling a little disappointed. :(

One improvement I noticed is that 6 seems to load the sound collections better overall, less buggy then 5.

Is there any semblance of a favorite tagging system yet, I'm on 5 still and for the life of me I can't understand why I can't put a star or something next to the sample? I get the fact it's a sample player but the gui isn't and can be coded for a tagging system or am I missing something?

Post

There's a database in Kontakt. No star-based tagging but you can enter comments.

You can also put your favorite patches in Quick-Load...

Except there's nothing "quick" about quickload as it does not replace the previous sample.

We waited all those years for a new gui, and what did we get - zilch.

I know you have inside information, and you are not able to divulge, but I guess they must be building a new Kontakt from the ground up, otherwise it makes no sense not to update their top product.
