We are excited to announce the release of Krush Pro

Image
Krush Pro has many exciting new features that take the audio engine of our freebie Krush to another level.

Krush Pro includes our acknowledged bit-crusher processor, as well as a new 'Wavecrushing' distortion module, built upon an innovative wavesets processing algorithm. New timbral possibilities are also brought by the addition of a dual frequency shifter/ring modulator fx module and two input/output filters sections.

Several modulations features have been introduced, and as far as we know KrushPro is the first plugin with full stereo modulations capabilities. All the modulators are stereo, and every modulation slot has a stereo balance knob. Being able to modulate the parameters differently on the left and right channels brings something new to the table, and allow the creation of unheard stereo effects.

New features include:
  • Much more modulations options.
  • A new 'Wavecrush' distortion module.
  • A Frequency Shifter.
  • A Ring Modulator.
  • 3 stereo LFOs.
  • 2 stereo Step Sequencers.
  • 1 stereo Envelope Follower.
  • 3 stereo Macros.
  • More filters.
  • More presets.

Congratulations for the release !
Excellent plugin, gui-wise, sound-wise, and it features a nice bunch of usability features which are lovely :)

Not a long video, but several quick tips in english at the bottom of that page.
(notably regarding the stereo modulations)
Don't miss them!

Wow, great! Time to buy a new toy, it seems...

Just a couple of questions:
- Is there a manual for this? (or is it on the way?)
- Will there be MIDI automation for the parameters?

I bought it anyway ;)

Oh look ... plinkies, one of my fav basic sounds to build up something
and moah Pro Krush seems to blend very well.

I take it the current beta equals to a demo?
Installed today and going through it also to see the plus of the Pro version.

My wallet is a dictator and I`m broke this month, any chance the beta crosses Jun/Jul?
Not sure if I`m already happy with the free version though, plinkies like it.

There's no manual at the minute but I would be happy to answer your questions/doubts. You can also write at support at tritik.com if you need precision about something.
Will there be MIDI automation for the parameters?
There's no particular plan about that (that's not planned for the v1 release). But features requests are welcome!

Thanks a lot! :)

The release date could be delayed a bit (depending on bugs that may be reported while in beta) but the actual plan is to release v1 on June 25th!

Hello, why is there some latency in Wavecrush? (Just asking.) Like this plugin a lot.

OK - I'll just email if I have any questions about how the modules work.
For example, I'm not sure what "sync" and "morph2 actually do - in th ewavecrusher module.

OK - can I put in a feature request for this?
I see that the parameters are automatable (in Reaper anyway) but it would be cool to use a MIDI controller to adjust, for example, Wavecrush sync. (even though i'm not sure what it's doing - it sounds cool to adjust this)

Ok, thanks for the time frame.
Plenty of time to demo yet.

The Wavecrush module is built around an original distortion algorithm, based on the transformation of wavesets. Wavesets (as defined by Trevor Wishart) are short segments of the sound signal defined between pairs of zero-crossings. This is the extraction of those audio segments that implies some latency.

The extracted wavesets are then transformed (note that there is a small waveform next to the 'Wavecrush' which helps visualising that) :

Image

morph allows you to gradually transform each waveset to the waveform that is selected in the menu below the knob.
- if 'morph' is at 0 then the wavesets are left untouched.
- if 'morph' is at 1 then the wavesets are fully replaced by the selected waveform

width progressively 'squeezes' the wavesets. Note that the control is reversed :
- when the width is at 0% the wavesets are left untouched.
- when the width is at 100% the wavesets are fully zeroed.

sync : each waveset is repeated faster than normal speed during the original waveset duration.
- at 0%, each waveset is played normally.
- at 100%, each waveset is repeated 16 times at a 16x speed.

In the case of basic sounds (sine, square, saw,..) it's interesting to note that a waveset corresponds to a period of the signal, and the timbre modification can be warm and gentle (try it on simple synthesizers oscillators).
But for the more common case of complex or non periodic signals those wavesets do not correspond to any kind of 'period', and that leads to much more complex/drastic/deliciously dirty distortions effects!
