The price - as the e-mailer they sent said - is $49 for Byome owners. These specially priced things have not stacked with other discounts in recent times at PA and I don't know why you would think this would work this time.
Everything i bought from PA over the last 3 months was on special and stacked with vouchers. I don't know what you are talking about.

Also your assertion that the answer is clear and the question is ambiguous is simply ridiculous.

And also... it might be time for thelizard to stop being a lizard and crawl out from under his/her rock to defend dealing with a distribution system like this. He/she is not above his/her customer's concerns... so there, I called you out.

There's probably a non-disparagement clause or similar in there, so that's my first and last anti-PA bomb in a UA thread. UA themselves are great, super on-it with beta updates and support and the like, and even without reply I trust they've heard.

I sent PA a ticket asking for a voucher for the Thorn 'crossgrade' because I didn't receive it (a very 'work email' ticket, no shade), and got an email with the voucher from Dmitry Sches' Gmail account. He was very positive in the email about teaming up with PA, how this would help his company going forward, and cautiously apologetic about the $19 in a way that'd make any manager proud, so I guess the reality of staying alive in the plugin market means teaming up with big distributors who may be more interested in short term gain than the devs themselves. Big distributors who'll charge $19 per customer to cover the support costs involved in moving a database then just get the poor developer to do that support and be the face of that $19 sting anyway.

At the end of the day, I'd rather have UA and Sches at PA than have no UA or Sches at all.

(ok my second and last anti-PA bomb including this post :P )

It's not a courtesy, it's a core element of PA's gamelike approach to pricing. It's no coincidence the Triad upgrade email was sent out in a month with no vouchers and containing no info as to whether the upgrade was time-limited. I'm also not surprised that people here are saying customer support danced around the issue when asked. I am surprised that people here are defending this by saying they should have emailed the marketing department, as though forwarding an email to the relevant department is a Herculean task. It takes seconds and I somehow manage it several times a day.

PA completely lost me when they blew out BYOME for $69 just 5 months after their 'intro offer' which was almost double the price at $129, yet made to look like a significant saving on the RRP of $249. I mean, some intro offers last almost that long. It's a straight up mockery of early adopters.
Actually it went to $49 at the time with publicly available vouchers.

MBP late 2013
OSX 10.9.5
Bitwig 2.5.1 (latest) - vst

Sorry if this has already been reported / discussed.
I went through the thread only in parts because of too much price discussion and I was looking for possible bug discussion.

TRIAD is fantastic, but I have the following issues:

- when skipping through the presets looking for the right sound (not superfast, but with 3-5sec per preset) TRIADs GUI sometimes turns white and it freezes Bitwig. The sound ist still running, but Bitwig responds to no command, even closing with "cmd q" is not possible and I have to close the DAW the hard way with "alt / cmd / esc".

- Sometimes after having changed a parameter or after closing the GUI, the UAD Apollo output is all of a sudden muted. You can see the sound in the meters, even on the output, but there is nothing to hear. When switching to Mac Audio Intern output and then switching back to UAD Apollo output everything is back to normal.
This only happens when there is at least one other plugin besides TRIAD in the track (but not a specific one or from a specific company), but on the other hand only when at least one instance of TRIAD is in the track.
I never had something like that with another company's plugin in and this does not happen when I work with Mac Audio Intern output.
I also have BYOME and never had one of these issues with it.

Have some of you the same / similar issues?
I just reported this to the PA support and really do hope they can fix this because TRIAD will surely be one of my go-to plugins from now on.

^^^^ same stuff happens in Reaper also.
( I reported already this to Michael )

Here too.
Win7x64 Bitwig 2.5
Crash by skipping through artist presets.
The average bored guy

also, in cubase, perhaps also other daw's, when the plugin window is open it consumes 15% cpu power (of an i7 6700k, at 4.4 ghz), more than when it is closed. openGL on/off doesn't matter.

crash with skipping presets in maschine 2.8.2 on windows 10.

Same in Ableton Live 10 mac 10.13.6

That is weird: I just installed Triad 1.0 on my laptop, also Win 8.1 Pro x64, same installer, same folders, same install options, and there the VST2 was installed and the presets as well. No idea what the difference is to my desktop machine, I keep them pretty much in sync...

I missed the intro...is there much more to this than more bands? I agre about PA's pricing strategy - they seem to have lost a lot of credibility of late - as the strategy really sucks for early adopters.
That said, i have still bought a ton of stuff from them and really like UA.
Would really like to see oversampling on BYOME (or this one)

From the manual:
"Many new Modulators to choose from, including Spectral Follower and Probability Gate."

I can't say for sure what exactly is new though because I don't have Byome.

Also in the same section of the manual it mentions side chain inputs for the dynamics processors. I'm not sure if Byome has that.

The bands and the parallel or processing signals are new which greatly changes the sound. Being able to process in an easy way makes Byome be on steroids.

I dont know what there credibility was like before, but as a newish user I cant say I have been impressed by the time it took to fix bugs that made BYOME almost unusable for me for a long time (windows scaling issues in BWS and S1) and it was only bug fixes posted on the forum that patched it.

I also don't like the fact that they made a pretty small upgrade to BYOME and then launched it as a new product, this was totally unnecessary- I have see other DEVS do this type of thing as a free update, but if you have to charge just make it BYOME1.5 and charge 20 bucks or seething.

Anyway- I have GRID now in Bitwig 3 so will probably not use BYOME anymore anyway....I would sell it but the licences seem to go for next to nothing...
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I'm investigating the preset-changing crashes as my #1 priority. I haven't been able to reproduce a full crash or lockup on either machine of mine (Windows or Mac), but I believe I've identified some potential memory leaks that could be the culprit. I'll include these fixes in the next builds, but it'll be back-and-forth until I feel confident confirming the crashes as "fixed".

For the people reporting crashes, can you provide the following?:
1) Operating System

2) DAW + version

3) Whether OpenGL is on or off

4) Whether the BYOME panel is open or closed

5) Which preset folder it was in when it crashed (if possible)

6) Amount of RAM on computer (if possible)

7) Processor model (if possible)

8 ) Graphics adapter or video card model (if possible)

Post

I only had one single crash from switching presets (and I switched many of them).
- Windows 8.1 x64 (latest system updates and drivers).
- Bitwig Studio 3.0 Beta 4 or 5 IIRC.
- Byome panel is always open here.
- Can't remember the preset sadly, not even sure if it was Byome presets or Factory. I remember that I tried to switch the same preset afterwards but it wasn't repeatable, so it could be some memory leak situation that hits after a while, not because of specific presets.
- 64 GB RAM.
- i7 6core 3930 @4.1 Ghz.
- GeForce RTX 2080 TI & GeForce GTX 1080 TI
- Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 1gen with latest beta drivers.

Cheers,

Tom
