I picked up the bundle after demoing. Very nice. Here's some work with them. It's the same track. The top one is mixed with the 24 on each track and the 440 on the master all using 456. The bottom one is exactly the same but without the tape emulations on. I loudness matched to 0.5dB LUFS. It's also been mastered with analogue compression pre-tape/limiter. Downloads have been enabled.

There is one thing I see missing from the emulations: bias tone. All tape machines will imprint a bias tone that you can see with a spectral plot. Usually this is just over 20k with most high end decks but sometimes just under 20k. I see no evidence of the bias tone in the IK emulations. If the emulation included details down to the electromagnetic aspects then I'd expect to see the bias tone. So I guess they didn't take it that far...?? :phones:

according to their earlier posts, they do emulate bias tone. one particular machine should have it at 150kHz, according to Peter's words.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Ah ok. I will go back and read through. thanks!

Defintiely getting these -- they are incredible. I own most of the other tape Emus out there and these are definitely a big step up (in my mind at least)
Didn't even know about jam points - but as i already own a ton of IK stuff, i should have some, right?
An extra 30% off would really sweeten the deal!
I actually think 99 for 4 tape machines is pretty good - given that they are all significantly different.

Bug in a bug reporting system, IK engineers really dont like when their users see there is some problem :clown:

Peter, maybe you can report to the staff the bug and that there is a bug in a bug reporting system? :)

p.s. tape plugins sound really great (as most of IK effect plugins)
Thanks for the kind words. I am able to open a support ticket, not sure what is causing that issue for you. Sorry to hear you're having trouble, so please try the general sales/service instead of the tech support form and if that doesn't throw the error (it is a separate form) then you can PM me the email address you used on that form and I'll have a support rep pick it out of that queue. If that doesn't work, then still PM your email address and details and I'll get it over to support. Thanks!

Hi Peter, I don’t own any other T-racks plugins but bought this as the tapes sound incredible!

I’m reading it’s possible to make the GUI larger but can’t find any option, where is the option to do this please?

I’m struggling to see the little screw things....

Resizing is only available if you own a T-Racks bundle; T-Racks 5, T-Racks 5 Deluxe, or T-Racks 5 MAX

Owning T-Racks5 "unlocks" the ability to resize the plugins. It's kind of crappy IMO considering how expensive the singles are and they don't do enough to go out of their way to point out that they're only resizable for T-Racks5 customers or that the plugins are otherwise cut-down versions if you don't.

Now, considering IK recently added Cab Room to the free AT4, it's totally possible IK will change course in the future. But right now, the "resizable only for T-Racks5 owners" requirement sucks.

There is more than resizing added for those that have T-RackS 5, T-RackS 5 MAX, or T-RackS Deluxe. Please see the "What's New" section here for more information: https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/tr5cs/

Thank you.

If that was in response to me, that's not really relevant to the point I was making which was if you own a single T-Racks plugin, or the entire Tape Machine collection in this case, you cannot resize the plugins you paid in full for, unless you also buy one of the T-Racks5 packages in addition to the Tape Collection.

Of course, you'd get more than just resizing. I never said you wouldn't, and if I implied that, my apologies. But the reality is, you have to buy another package (Tracks5), to unlock a feature (resizable GUI) in your fully paid-for plugin (Tape Machine Collection).

The Bot is totally right.

Wait, what ?
You're saying that even though i've paid for my Tape Machines bundle that I have to buy another bundle to be able to use it properly?

Please tell me this isn't correct Peter?

You can still use the plugins properly. For the features noted at the link I posted, you would need to have of the products mentioned there.

Oh no, it wasn't directly in response (the "not just resizing" part, especially) but that usually ends up being the followup question so I figured I'd cover it and link to where the full info was available. No need for apologies on your end, my apologies that it wasn't as clear as I'd like it to have been.

If you consider being able to resize a plugin that you paid for (as you would for any other plug you've purchased) then yes, you need to pay IK more money to be able to use your Tape Machine Collection properly. This idiotic policy is indefensible, though Peter will try to rationalize it. There are ZERO other companies that charge you extra $$ for the "privilege" of being able to resize the plugin you purchase.
