He invented a chocolate bar and named it after himself.

Very well produced talent with great showmanship. Some nice collaborations with Mark Ronson.

It is pop, but not boy-band pop.

Not out of line with your usual list of Ice-breakers when meeting someone new!

While ignorance can be comforting, it doesn’t serve as well conversationally.

I’m very familiar with his music so posting videos or his lyrics doesn’t further your point as much as you’d like it to.
That's unfortunate. If you don't mind lyrics about pimping bitches, selling crack to kids, robbing or killing people, then i guess you're the wrong person to discuss the social effects, i'm afraid. Or, you're as ignorant as you try to make me here.
You’re pushing a limited scope to formulate an argument that you are right and now furthering that into a wider scope of what I might represent in a conversation about social effects.

The world is not that simple or that small.

Rather than argue with me, just check out the interview with David Letterman. He’ll discuss things that will validate some of what you say and it may surprise you about other things that you didn’t know.

There’s nothing wrong with learning something new.
Provided that i would care about him and his music. Which i don't.

And, i'm absolutely sure that he's not like his music and lyrics would suggest. They're all fakers ("they" = rappers, disclaimer for thecontrolcentre). That's why so many of them become actors.

Even though at least Notorious BIG from that video i posted above seemed to have "lived the life". And ended up being shot. Awesome.

Funny enough, he even talks about exactly that in his interview with David Letterman.

You know, death metal has stories about killing people as well. It's just that that is like watching a horror movie, while gangsta rap is like a reality show. And, at least in America, you can see what is the result.

'nuff said from me.

What?!? Some popular music isn't about stuff that really happened? Bollocks. Next you'll be telling me that Hawkwind haven't really got a silver machine. :x

What’s even more disturbing is that this is the music people want. If people didn’t want it, he wouldn’t be rich.
