But why? I don't even use Cubasis.dermichl wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2019 5:47 amit‘s easy: just tell us what you think about Cubasis. what do you like and what do you miss from Cubasis.
Again, i responded to the OP's second post in this thread. No idea what's going on in your brain. Obviously, not much.

There are tons of discussion threads over here:
https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/3265 ... you-prefer
Bussing is a huge difference for me. Auria Pro has it whereas Cubasis doesn't (or at least it didn't the last time I checked). There's also sample-accurate audio editing, warping and much finer MIDI resolution in Auria Pro, grooves etc. The PSP channel strip is superior to the Steinberg one (although I do like that one too - never cared much for the Waves stuff in Cubasis, but some love it). The FabFilter plug-ins in Auria Pro are best in class by a wide margin, although I'm not sure if that's really a dealbreaker now that many of them have been released as AUv3 plug-ins. Still waiting for Saturn... You also get super-long faders in portrait mode, which can make a big difference.
Basically, Auria Pro can't be beaten for mixing. Lots of people seem to finish up tracks in Auria Pro, even if they like working elsewhere to generate stems.
Disadvantages:
- Not everybody finds it as user-friendly as Cubasis.
- MIDI editing can be fiddly, although there's a lot of functionality there
- If you visit the plug-in store, it can become relatively expensive (and all of that stuff is locked up inside Auria Pro - apps have no resale value, don't forget)
- Not everything is intuitive, so you really need to read the manual
- It sometimes feels like Pro Tools has been shoehorned into a tablet (might not be a disadvantage)
NanoStudio 2 is also a one-man show. I think that of all of the DAWs on iOS, NS2 might be the least obstructive/most intuitive for me to interact with - but again, this is going to be a personal thing. I absolutely love the built-in synth/sampler and the piano roll and the effects and the file system and everything in-house. It's an incredibly well-designed piece of software that I think suits the iPad perfectly. I question the need for all of the synths and effects that I bought during the before times. At some point this year, we'll be getting audio tracks, an iPhone version and a resource-friendly convolution reverb. Whether or not I decide to abandon Auria Pro remains to be seen. I've already abandoned Cubasis.

That‘s what i was guessing! Why do you participate in threads you don‘t even know the subject of? Because you read „Cubasis“ and thought that you need to speak in favor of Steinberg? Or just because you are a Oberlehrer?chk071 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2019 10:16 amBut why? colonel_mustard wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 9:45 pm It's ok. There are fairly regular half-price discounts and it's terrific value, anyway (I'm not keeping up with the sales, but be aware).
It's excellent, really, but there is competition.
I've spent some time with quite a few iOS environments and come to realise that Auria Pro is better for me, overall, so far as conventional DAW environments go. All of these things are personal, though, so take that with a pinch of salt. You do you. I can't stand Gadget or GarageBand.
I expect that when Nanostudio 2 gets audio tracks (it's on the roadmap for this year) I'll likely spend most of my iPad time there.
Many thanks, I love Cubasis having moved recently from GarageBand, it's a whole lot easier to use once you dive into it.
Im interested in Auria Pro and Nanostudio also, but have yet to try them mainly for cost reasons. Can you let us know what their benefits are to your own workflow approach compared to Cubasis?
Many thanks again.

Terrible. I bought it earlier this year and thought it was buggy and the included instruments are half-assed pieces of crap that sound way worse than any free instruments on the App Store. I tried it again recently and couldn't even get it to scan my AUv3 apps successfully. Uninstalled it.
