I created a new default composition and there is a grey circle and line at B3. Can anyone tell me where this is controlled or changed? Is it a setting or something specific to the track?

Found it!. In the tracks "hamburger" menu I turn off the "Show Phrase Envelope".

Yes, that is a rarely used feature. Phrases may follow an envelope.

in my opinion, in order for this function to be used more often, the envelope line must be flexible, Well, or have the choice of the shape of the waveform line .

I think it is already flexible enough:

It is a good idea to have a waveform, I quickly added that to my to-do list.
