I think you might be having the same issue I and someone else had. Click the litle down arrow next to the logo in the top left and select Rescan Presets. Close the plugin and re-open, see if it fixes it.Touch The Universe wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 9:04 pmStill nothing, I see sine that is underlined, but there are 4 options, 3 tris and something else, nothing like a long list of st. Anything that's underlined is a menu.

This synth got me from the start. Other similar synths did not.
I don't know why, maybe it is the mystery hidden behind each workflow, which are so varied and different and therefore may fit or not with each one of us.
We are different, and different synths are out there for this reason.
This does not mean that a synth that does not fit with me is a crap, do you agree?

I’m sure those visualisations cost extra CPU cycles.graspee wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 3:11 pm It's a great sounding synth with a lot of flexibility but it's almost as if it was designed by some people locked in a bunker for the last few years who haven't seen how visual and animated synths are now.

Are you sure you installed the "Factory Preset" which come after the plugin installer in Native Access?Touch The Universe wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 8:51 pm Sounds amazing so far, but after 30 seconds I still can't figure out how to load a wavetable.... I'd like the most basic stuff to be intuitive

I did this mistake, and after installing the second package everything was perfect.

You bet, but the GUI is GPU-accelerated so it shouldn't be TOO bad.v1o wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 9:15 pmI’m sure those visualisations cost extra CPU cycles.graspee wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 3:11 pm It's a great sounding synth with a lot of flexibility but it's almost as if it was designed by some people locked in a bunker for the last few years who haven't seen how visual and animated synths are now.

I'm trying to recreate one of my synth patches in X, but it uses a JP8000 WT that I love, so in order to see how "identical" I can get it, I wanted to try it out. Lack of custom waveform loading isn't a huge deal for me, though honestly it's probably going to be a huge deal for some preset makers. For now it seems the basic saw waveform pretty much does what I need with just a little bit of the inbuilt osc filter.EvilDragon wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 9:02 pmNo custom WTs. There's plenty coming along with it, why not first explore those?Functional wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 8:58 pm So about custom wavetables, it is possible right? I'm figuring that you need to load them into a wavetable folder but I can't find one? Where is it by default?

* If you route a performer to a switcher lfo, you get a shape sequencer light version.
Sort off.
* You should be able to go through the wavetables with a previous and next button. Now the dropdown menu always overlaps the control so you can't see or scan the wavetable. You have to open and close the menu all the time to see what's inside the wavetable.

The thing with any wavetable is that its sonic character is almost entirely dependent on how you scan through it.
So no, you don't need 8,000 wavetables; the 170 that MX comes with are ample.
True also with any patch; it's going to sound different with each change to the wavetable scan, and each wavetable.
You can get lots of variety out of one patch by just choosing different wavetables.
In my case, clicking on the wavetable name in the oscillator opens up a white menu full of categorized lists of wavetables.
If you're not seeing that, make sure you've installed properly, including the 59MB Content pack (the first of many, no doubt).
If you're still not seeing them, could be a GUI glitch of some sort.
Also make sure you've got a latest video driver update.

also, don't forget to click on the arrow next to the massive logo and click on "Scan Presets". You may have to do this more than once. and close and reopen massive after you scan presets if it doesn't show right away.matteogk wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 9:16 pmAre you sure you installed the "Factory Preset" which come after the plugin installer in Native Access?Touch The Universe wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 8:51 pm Sounds amazing so far, but after 30 seconds I still can't figure out how to load a wavetable.... I used to do tech support for Camel Audio, back before they were acquired by Apple. From what I understand, Cameleon 5000 had a more extensive additive architecture than the Kawai K5000. Later, Alchemy had an even more sophisticated architecture than Cameleon 5000.jeffb01 wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 8:54 pmwhat about alchemy. because I had the camel 5000 which was based on that synth and camel 5000 became alchemy.Spirit2017 wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 8:47 pm Still there is no plugin that sounds like the K5000.But there are many that sounds like massive x![]()
To be fair, I never had access to a K5000 to make a direct comparison, but we definitely had some very satisfied customers who were Kawai K5000 owners.
I'm involved with photography & audio. For more info, take a look at my site:

True. I think you can say the same about a software´s GUI, not only its workflow.matteogk wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 9:11 pm This synth got me from the start. Other similar synths did not.

If I am convinced that synth x has a crystal clear sound I will very likely use it to make music, no matter if it doesn´t look very nice

The sound design potential on this is huge. This is literally a synth you could use for years and not totally exhaust its palette. My hunch is that the included presets, good as they are, are only scratching at the surface. I just can’t wait to see what sound designers like The Unfinished will come up with.

Well, I think it's the best sounding softsynth(for now
) The clarity, depth and weight of the sounds really stand out to me. Want clean pristine sounds? not a problem, want dirty raw sounds? easy. And the modulation is brilliant. Just need to get used to that GUI.
I wish it had more presets though.
