I9-9900 + Massive X = Smassivechk071 wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 11:36 pmIt's working pretty good here on a old Xeon processor. I really expected worse. It's not quite as demanding as Diva. IMO, it's a fair CPU usage for the sound quality offered.realtrance wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 10:02 pm Time to get an I9-9900...…
Works fine on my ol' I7-based machine, though.

I didn't notice that at all, to be honest. Maybe it really has to do with mouse resolution, or the sampling rate (of the mouse). I have a gaming mouse here as well.midi_transmission wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 11:43 pm i guess the slow knob sentitivity was done to have more resolution? i don't think that it's a bad idea, but I would like to have at least the middle ground between 'normal' knob speed from 99% of the other plugins and mx. or maybe a slider to adjust between normal knob speed and ultra slow like now.
like pixel85 said. i also notice it when I switch bewteen mx an other plugins very much, everything feels too fast after using it and too slow while using mx.

Yeah I haven't had any issues with Massive X knob sensitivty but I actually often do with other synths (which often are too damn sensitive) so I'm not sure what this is about. I run pretty low DPI too with it and often have to switch to lowest whenever making fine adjustments. But, I don't have 4k resolution display, so I don't know.

Is it just me or Velocity Off in T1-T4 modulators doesn't work? My keyboard is sending Note Off values but Massive X doesn't seem to receive them

I didn't even notice this, until you mentioned it. It's not a big deal to me.midi_transmission wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 11:22 pm am I really the only one that has problem with the ultra slow knob sensitivity and moving the mouse so much because of this?
Maybe you would benefit from adjusting the sensitivity and/or acceleration of your mouse? I don't know about Apple computers, if you're using one of those, but this is a basic system adjustment available on all the Windows computers I've ever used. I tend to keep my mouse set more sensitive than the Windows default, and it also accelerates faster than the Windows default setting. Maybe that's why I'm not having any serious issues with the mouse in Massive X?
This won't resolve the issue of some of your plugins being more sensitive to the mouse than others, but it still might help to tweak the settings a bit. Maybe you can find a happy medium for all your plugins?

Their ideas on the "future of sound" and what I needed were becoming a little divergent and K10 was the cutoff point...
What they were offering was not really for me...
I like smaller installs, tighter coding and minimal CPU hit, so downloading a demo of a soft synth that has an install size of over 800MB is not really on my agenda....
I'm happy for the people who are getting their jollies with the new toys, but I already have enough tools to keep me busy until the end of time...
I want to focus on learning how to use what I have already before I add to the confusion, although I am looking foward to Zebra 3 when it happens...
I feel that NI have released Massive X before it was really cooked just to make the deadline and all of the users are beta testing it to help with some rapid fire updates in the very near future...
Personally,I can do without that aggravation because I have plenty of work to do with the tools I already have
No auto tune...

MX is pretty impressive though. It's been some time since i last was that impressed. Could well become my go-to wavetable synth.
And how nice is it that i get that on top of the already great selection of Komplete stuff.

We were all impressed that NI was finally going to release a stand alone synth again...
That was a joyful hallelujah right there...
A Reaktor free offering...finally....
I might wait a while and see what's up with Massive X after the initial bugs have been sorted out,but how many toys is enough ?
Sticking with offline Win 7 Pro x64 DAWs and not having to worry about updates all of the time is quite liberating....
Going backwards to go fowards

Good point, but I'm really happy with my mouse speed and have zero problems otherwise. I tweaks knobs a lot by mouse and also using Adobe CC a lot. I really think mx is the problem here.McLilith wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2019 12:36 amI didn't even notice this, until you mentioned it. Yeah. I was hoping to find some way to minimize your inconvenience, until Native Instruments addresses the mouse sensitivity issue in a future update. That's all I could think of.midi_transmission wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2019 1:03 am Good point, but I'm really happy with my mouse speed and have zero problems otherwise. Actually after using it some hours now, the FX are the best part of mx for me. Best FX NI has done so far. Really really good sounding. And I usually don't like their FX, also not the latest stuff like phasis.

Wow. I totally get what people are saying about the UI. What a train wreck. I’ve gotten placeholder art from programmers that’s better. It’s not very often that I look at any software instrument and feel a bit lost, but they totally got me there with Massive X. NI, if you’re listening, hit me up for some UX consultation. My rate is very reasonable.
The sound is good, and the CPU use is moderate. The presets are interesting and varied. I’m sure this will become a favorite, but they really need to address the UI.
