Just stop making videos at ALL. I'm sorry but they really suck.sadowickproduction wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2019 7:43 am Ill make a follow up video in the morning addressing this. I think square waves would be more obvious as you cant simply filter out the aliasing within the oscillator close to nyquist. Ill also compare the behavior of frequency sweeps in Massive X with Serum. It will be more obvious then.

Hey there guys, please forgive me if this has been mentioned already but the lower octave (from C0 - B0) makes no sound on my demo version of Massive X, is this a demo limitation or something else? I can confirm my setup is working ok and that other synths play correctly in this octave.
Thanks heaps

Well, this sounds like a very commercial answer (are you being paid for this? ) but it looks like someone has been very busy deleting or omitting patches that were actually pretty good.EvilDragon wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2019 8:23 amOnly the highest quality patches were selected for the release.Stefken wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2019 8:19 am I wonder why there were sounds from the beta dropped that were actually pretty good?
I won't go through the trouble to pinpoint how the renaming was done but it's fair and objective to state that nice presets and even entire categories were deleted.

The thing is I don't hear any nasty aliasing artifactsgael_ wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2019 8:19 amWell in certain conditions, you're probably gonna hear it. Even the old Massive has a "dirty" sound btw, but it doesnt mean its better or worse than other synths.pixel85 wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2019 8:11 am Can somebody tell me why in such situation I should care that there's aliasing 30dB below dynamic range that human can perceive?

Sorry if it sounds commercial, wasn't the intention (and I'm not paid to say these things).Stefken wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2019 8:37 amWell, this sounds like a very commercial answer (are you being paid for this? ) but it looks like someone has been very busy deleting or omitting patches that were actually pretty good.

It's just that a looooot of patches from the beta weren't ready in time (macros unassigned, modulations not fully fleshed out, etc.), so they had to cut a fair number of them. My assumption is that this is also why they made a separate "product" in Native Access that is just the factory presets - so they can update patches separately from the main plugin. And there will be updates with more patches down the road - so that's good.
You need to disable the remote octave. Click on P1/2/3, a grid button will show, click it. Then disable remote octave in the upper half of the GUI.fgimian wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2019 8:36 am Hey there guys, please forgive me if this has been mentioned already but the lower octave (from C0 - B0) makes no sound on my demo version of Massive X, is this a demo limitation or something else? MX desperately need some bread and butter sounds. EPs, pads, leads that can actually be used in productions. Too much emphasis on avantgarde, experimental stuff.
Hoping for a top notch pro sound bank to show off what this synth truly can do.

Same here in the full version, my understaning is that this octave is reserved for keyswitches of some sort. Is this correct?fgimian wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2019 8:36 am Hey there guys, please forgive me if this has been mentioned already but the lower octave (from C0 - B0) makes no sound on my demo version of Massive X, is this a demo limitation or something else? Yes, but you can disable them as I've mentioned.

Avantgarde and experimental patches ARE the ones which usually show what a synth can truly do (or what it does differently from any other synth), no?pepelogu wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2019 8:41 amHoping for a top notch pro sound bank to show off what this synth truly can do.

NI made the "mistake" to have the performer thingy active on the default patch. Go to the modulators on the far left side, click on the "arrangment window" of the performers so it shows up in the GUI and there click the little on/off button.fgimian wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2019 8:36 am Hey there guys, please forgive me if this has been mentioned already but the lower octave (from C0 - B0) makes no sound on my demo version of Massive X, is this a demo limitation or something else? You just contributed to fake news and misinformation on the internet. You should do the necessary research first before making videos on more technical aspects otherwise it’s misleading.sadowickproduction wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2019 7:43 am Ill make a follow up video in the morning addressing this. Thank you so so much! I struggled to find it to be honest, so to clarify in case anyone else can't see it, click P1 and then click the little icon to the left of P1 which will show the remote launch configuration on the top of the window, then uncheck "Remote".BDeep wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2019 8:44 amNI made the "mistake" to have the performer thingy active on the default patch. That's a bit of a bad default, but really glad that's all it was

the fx are really interesting, best part of the synth for me.
(i hope updates won't follow the same behaviors than maschine update...)
