Sound Forge Pro help needed with two annoying issues

Hello, I've encountered two rather big issues with SFPro 12 and 11. The context: recording audio books for a non-profit association of visually impaired people.
  1. When recording, the displayed waveform is being shrunk (zoomed out) continuously. Here's a video showing the problem: https://photos.app.goo.gl/8CG3XU7s8tAEWJhd7
Is there a way to avoid this? That's quite important to us, as we need to record for a long time while continuously visually monitor what's going on. When the waveform is zoomed out we cannot see any meaningful information in it.
  2. If we stop a recording with the spacebar shortcut, the program switches to "arm record" rather than stop. If I stop by clicking on the stop button, it's all right.
This is also quite annoying, as I have to disable arm record all the time in order to review what's been recorded.
Notice that "spacebar" is listed as equivalent to "stop" but it's not!
Those issues were submitted to MAGIX support but they let me down: they state that the first issue cannot be reproduced on their computer (!!!) and that the second issue is not an issue... I'm incredibly disappointed.

I’m away from my computer so I can’t test this but that won’t stop be from trying ;)
1: when you start recording can you use your mouse wheel to scroll out so the waveform display pulls into the window?
2: I believe that the space bar is designed for transport play/stop. Record start/stop is something different. There must be ways to assign the stop button to a hot key, have you tried this? Might be worth checking, though I could be wrong.

I hope this helps somehow.

Item #2:
From the SFP 11 online help:
Start/stop recording
Ctrl+R

FWIW on #1:
Haven't found recording explicit. Do the playback head commands work in rec mode?
F6 Toggle playback scrolling on and off
Shift+F6 Toggle smooth playback scrolling on and off

Sorry for the late reply and thanks a lot for your help!

Here's what I found thanks to your suggestions:

Issue #1
Playback scrolling settings do not affect the zooming behavior during recording, however I found that if I zoom in/out with the mouse wheel during during recording, the zoom ratio is then fixed and kept by SFP.
It still looks nonsensical to me and I think there should be a setting preventing SFP to adapt the zoom ratio automatically while recording, however that's a workaround.

Issue #2
Ctrl+R indeed solves the issue! It's less immediate than hitting the spacebar, but we'll get used to it.

Again thanks a lot for your time and help!

My thanks go out to anyone who does this kind of work. I myself am visually impaired and so I make use of these products often. Thanks noou!

Not at all! I'm just an occasional support worker, as I'm into audio and computers. My wife regularly works with them as a reader though, and she loves the job.
I have to say that all the people working in there are wonderful!
