I read - and assumed - that working on Mac OS 10.12 as the minimum suggested would ensure I would be partying with Massive X... but no!!
My 2010 iMac that runs like a dream doesn’t have AVX... which I just found out after upgrading to Komplete 12:( Bummer!
So as a warning... Macs earlier than 2011 won’t work with Massive X.
I don't think it's NI's responsibility for users to know what kind of computers they have and what's in them.
How many mac users do you think know exactly what hardware they are using?

I think there might be more. I've heard there is also one in California. 8)

Could someone please help me identify the presets used for the sub-bass and big lead sounds in the first audio demo? The bass starts at -1:05 and lead starts at -0:42. I personally just love this particular demo a lot.

Would be great to know who produced it and also the demo project if available. :)

EDIT: The lead sound seems to be "Bow Squad" preset, right?

There's already AVX-512 which can operate on registers twice the size of AVX: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AVX-512. Because it's newer than AVX there are obviously fewer CPUs that support it.

I think AVX is a good choice. It's 10 years old and therefore supported by modern CPUs.

Where would we be without planned obsolescence? :hihi:

I don't. In which case, we're back to 1. :hihi:

i just messed around with Massive X for the second time. Gotta say, I do love it...either because I've gotten better at sound design (doubt it ;)) or because the synth acts really "balanced" I can get sounds I like out of it really quickly. Here's a quick beat I threw together with just Massive X in like an hour. Nothing fancy, but I guess its sounds you wouldnt associate with Massive OG either. So could be interesting for someone.

As someone who has worked on multiple private alpha and beta testing teams, and who used to be the head tech support person for a developer, I find your statement offensive. It's patently false.
It's not false. Beta is feature complete but may have bugs. What we have been given is not feature complete therefore it's alpha.

I like it. Is this pure Massive X, or do you also have some other instruments / effects in the track?
I'm involved with photography & audio. For more info, take a look at my site:

Does having latest drivers make any difference with this problem? Mine is Intel HD 630. I had a few problems (not related to audio) with the latest drivers, so I am using drivers that are few months old (2018). If it does not make difference, I will not update my drivers yet and will wait for the Massive X patch first instead.

Great stuff! Enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing. :)

Regarding the sound, Massive X does sound more new/modern/different/awesome than original Massive, so I think NI have done an excellent job at it.

I had 1 or 2 graphical glitches as well, like... buttons not refreshing immediately. Seemed to be when i switch between plugin GUI's in the plugin window in Studio One.

Apple have never released a desktop tower PC that supports AVX but they will finally be doing so in the autumn with prices starting at $6k.
Whereas Windows tower PCs supporting AVX have been available for over 8 years at prices starting from ~$500.
Even if I ignore the fruity pricing of Apple hardware the severe lack of hardware choices makes them a complete non starter.

Well, I expect to see it more and more, until it will be standard stuff (at what time the next evolution will already be knocking on the door  ).
Several devs have already upgraded existing synths to AVX.
I need to check all my synths then! Maybe I missed something in beta or an update! Anyway, my CPU doesn't support the AVX-512 so it is not future proofed! It is only for intel it seems! So, I won't have it if AMD won't be supported (AMD fan :hihi: )

Regrading some criticism to Massive X. I agree about the primitive browser and other negatives. This is 10 steps back! Why is that?! I hope in future updates NI will polish everything and add a good manual!
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

GUI won't render properly on this test system which has Intel graphics (it it AVX capable). The sale is over after tomorrow and I was hoping to demo Massive X to help see if doing the K update makes sense but it doesn't look like I'll get the chance.

I'm also not seeing any presets even after refreshing twice.

Maybe I'll try the demo on my studio computer but I hate doing that....it's the reason I use this test system to try demos, betas, and freeware that is released. It keeps the studio system from getting clogged up with bloat.

Nothing you stated indicates it is unstable. More like feature requests.
