Could be a more general assessment. Perhaps cpu amount for 1 instance 8 notes-no reverb. Then maybe 8 instances of same. It would give an indication at least. Or maybe just an overall impression. I would find that really useful. Thanks.

Ehhh.. why?
A perfect GUI will never be dated IMO.
I never understood this "Dated" trend too. If GUI is really good now, why should it be not good later. Specially if its resizable.

Plus I'm not a big fan of the more recent kind of washed out simplistic GUIs out there.

The 3rd law of thermo-dynamics states that: the 2nd law has two meanings, one of them is strictly wrong, the other is massively misunderstood.

I can't really add a valuable comment as I am not an expert and know (or care!) diddly as to what is inolved in making a GUI front end for an applicaiton. It looks old skule to me because I am comparing it to other competitors products and I guess the GUI of the other products looks more "modern" -- whatever that means.

The same goes for Ableton Live which I am slowing learning. It just looks old skule GUI to me -- which I don't mind. It is what it is.

It's not that it's simplistic, but rather that they've used Fortnite-like color hues. Like they are trying to appeal to diabetic 12-yos that yeet around on their electric scooters or whatever.

get off my lawn, NI.

I have MX Pigments and Serum.

Serum is still a great work horse with great visual feedback
Pigments has its place but not my goto much of the time
MX needs some work on visual feedback but the more I use it to more I love it

The synth data could use info regarding whether it supports Breath Controller, Expression Pedal, PolyAT, and MPE

good idea. I will work on that. right now my list is: CPU, MPE, and I'm going to add list price because, why not?

thanks.

So it's modern because it's new to your eyes.

Here's one that isn't modern at all. If a new product looked like this, I would be very surprised (it's old school):

I don't think Dune qualifies as I don't think there's anyway to mod the wavetable (bend, formant, etc). Right? That was my qualifier to be in the WT blowout. I'm not that familiar with Hive2. Does that have allow modification of the wavetables?

I am not sure that these type of wavetable transormations are essential for wavetable synthesis. Some of them can be reproduced by FM/PM modulation or other synth functions - hard/soft sync, some kind of waveshaping modules after oscillators, formant filters etc.

hmm why? Dune 3 can do any waveform as i know, i made my own waves on it, from scrath, and it can sounds very different. You just can paint it in Dune 3.
