Native Instruments Massive X Synth - Sequel to Massive (Out Now!)

I can respect this a lot more than the Sadowick videos. It's much more fair, and it doesn't come across as arrogant, demanding, and foolish — unlike Sadowick. I really like Massive X, but I'll readily admit there's room for improvement. Even Native Instruments tacitly admits this, with their reassurances of updates coming in the near future.
By the way, Sadowick's video was mentioned in the comments for that video, and I get the impression the person who mentioned Sadowick's video blindly assumes it's 100% accurate.

And the backup singers all sing: ♫ "YouTube killed the video star..." ♫

I look forward to the day, when people post links to Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You UP" video, and everyone gets a big surprise when some someone else's video starts playing instead!

I think Stefken has blocked me at this point (I sure do hope so) but this video at least can make coherent criticism: MX is limited in amount of oscs you can load, effects and inserts.
But, it also misses some crucial differences. For example, all the effects in PhasePlant are monophonic (which is very significant when using for example ringmod or, in certain cases, bitcrush. After trying out PhasePlant, which I was personally waiting for actually more than Massive X (because I was really excited about the modularity), I actually didn't get it. For quite a simple reason: it offers fairly little if you already own Omnisphere. It's a welcome addition to the synth world because it does share a lot of ground with Omnisphere (just that the oscs are far less robust + only filter & distortion are polyphonic), but it doesn't do much more than that. Can we really call it a "next gen synth" when realistically speaking the advantage versus a pre-existing synth is primarily the random modulators? (Which, by the way, are incredibly useful, I really wish Omnisphere had that) EDIT: Technically Omnisphere does have, but they're exactly that: random. You can't customize anything except the rate.
Massive X, on the other hand, does a lot of things that neither PhasePlant nor Omnisphere can do, and as far as I know, Serum either. Regardless, "next gen synth" is just a marketing buzzword that has no concrete meaning. But yes, I do wish we had two filters, four proper wt oscs and at least 6 inserts in poly section. This sort of stuff I wouldn't normally care about but; I can imagine many uses for comb filter in combination with another fully-fledged filter. I want to use additional WT oscs for FM. And I want to use very often more than just 3 inserts.
Can't say same for many other synths around. Sometimes, really rarely, I use 3 oscs / samplers in Omnisphere. Although that's partially because the RM and the FM modules have integrated wavetable oscs as modulators, so in essence I'm often using 4-5 oscs at minimum. Now if Massive X allowed me to do that with 4 WT oscs and 6 inserts and 2 filters, it'd be the synth of my dreams

Definitely very disappointed with the decision to limit automation to 16 macros. Load Massive into Maschine and everything is right there.
