Do you have any idea what the SMPL chunk is?
Does that need to be there for Serum to read it?
It is at the end of every Serum wave table WAV file and is not the same as the sample DATA chunk.

I am not seeing any SMPL chunks in the Serum wavetables I downloaded. However, according to this http://www.piclist.com/techref/io/serial/midi/wave.html
The Sampler (smpl) Chunk defines basic parameters that an instrument, such as a MIDI sampler, could use to play the waveform data. Most importantly, it includes information about looping the waveform (ie, during playback, to "sustain" the waveform).
I don't think it is necessary for a Serum wavetable.
I also don't see the JUNK chunk in most of the Serum wavetables I downloaded. So unless you know you have a specific need for the JUNK chunk, I think you can safely ignore it.

According to the RIFF specification found here: https://www.aelius.com/njh/wavemetatool ... iffmci.pdf
A JUNK chunk represents padding, filler or outdated information. It contains no relevant data; it is
a space filler of arbitrary size.
I think you can safely ignore it.

I have the Serum wave table reader and writer both working now in Fathom.
Here are some Fathom wave tables saved to Serum format, give them a try and see if they load.

Great work! Wavetables work fine in Serum. Most of them work very well with crossfade. Table 5, the pulse-width square, sounds more correct with spectral morph. But that's something the user can decide on and a convertor algorithm can't figure out, so it's fine.

Question: How do you delete a modulator?

Click on it and hit Delete, or just hit the minus "-" button on it.

6.2.4 Deleting a Modulation
To delete a modulation from the list, click on the modulator icon on the modulation slat which you want to delete in order to expand the mod slat. Then hit the Delete button.
It is necessary to first expand a mod slat before deleting it so that Fathom knows you wish to apply the Delete button to a modulation rather than the selected audio unit.

I just tried them in Sonic Academy's ANA2 and they load and Morph perfectly. I've created quite a few wave-tables in wav format. It's going to be great to have the ability to use them in Fathom.FathomSynth wrote: Tue Jul 02, 2019 2:57 am I have the Serum wave table reader and writer both working now in Fathom.

When I first tried to delete a modulator, I kept trying to do it via the Delete key on the keyboard and was frustrated when nothing would happen. Then I noticed the Delete button on the GUI...I am sure it is a safety issue to not use the keyboard to delete things but it did take a while for me to figure it out (and I had read the manual).

This is a very good addition.FathomSynth wrote: Tue Jul 02, 2019 2:57 am I have the Serum wave table reader and writer both working now in Fathom.

Attached a Fathom based drum loop.
I had my Sonuus mid guitar set up in linux,
so I loaded up four Fathom's with Solidtrax drums sounds
and delays, and plucked away for a few minutes.
I found some parts not too syncopated and cobbled
them together.
Cheers

Did some more testing with the wavetables.
Hive, Synthmaster One, MSoundFactory, Kontakt 6 imported them in no problem.
Avenger imports them, but for like all wavetables that do not have 256 frames, must be told how many frames there are.

Since we're on the cusp of the CPU update, I think now's a good time for a feature request: an audio rate modulation bus. It would be a modulator, like an lfo or envelope, and you would simply pick an oscillator either from the main signal path or it could have it's own which would be the source. There would also be integrated hi and low pass filters. It could modulate everything in the signal path like any old modulator.

Or update the current LFO's to support audio rate modulation.
I would love to see Fathom support scales (major / minor / etc) when modulating e.g. pitch/cutoff from a modulator (Seq. / LFO).
Arcsyn supports that feature, and it's awesome.
