As far as effects go, I wont pay over $30 (maybe $50) for anything anymore. A long time ago, before Waves started the constant sale tactic, I bought both the SSL bundle and the API bundle for about $300 each... but I think that was a product of my naivety at the time, I think I just thought they must be awesome products because of the prices :dog: , I still use them, but really I could get by with anything these days, it's not what you use, it's your knowledge and skills.

At the end of the day, in the current climate I think all the bases are covered with cheap or even free plugins, companies just need to get with the times and realize $30 plugins are the way of the future. :phones:

You can definitely get some quality Waves plugins for that money. H-Reverb was $29 some time ago, i think, and, it's really very, very good. Only reason i passed on it was that it eats my CPU for breakfast.

If you get it with a big discount, I recommend Metric AB. It's just an analysis and comparison tool, but very helpful and a joy to use.

Yep, was about to say that. From all the recent plug-ins that's the only one i'd recommend.

I have some other PA stuff (paid big bucks for most of them, before the silly sales) but hardly use them.

bx_opto is pretty much in all my mixes. I have a few optos I like, but bx_opto has that extra versatility and so easy to dial in.

Everyone raves about the bx_saturator2. I thought I would use it more than I do. Nothing wrong with it but I don't quite end up using the bands. I like the mono maker but it's not the only plugin that has it, and if I'm not fiddling with the bands then I could be using any saturator. When I do use it I do like what it's doing, but not particularly better than say Scheps Omni that has 3 flavors of saturation for easy auditioning.

The wild fluctuations in pricing from month to month, week to week and day to day just is too much to take seriously. I hope the new PA settles down and sets some realistic pricing as a baseline so that they have some credibility... Seeing a plugin at $200+ one day and then $29 with a voucher the next, gives little confidence in making a purchase decision. It seems weird to me that you would have to question the value of what you would buy on such an erratic scale.

I had some interest in this...but at $250, it is not happening! Not even for half of that.

U-he Repro: 150€.
The Legend: 100$.

Seriously, Oberhausen for 250$ is a total WTF.

They have zero integrity. Situation normal.

I don't know how people sleep at night. Corruption from the top to the bottom. Everywhere. Little children are brought up to be corrupt. Generation after generation increasing corruption. The total and complete annihilation of integrity is almost complete.

Human beings are animals. They have returned to having nothing inside. Empty.

Hmmm... Prices are not as low as I had hoped for.

Ah well... One doesn't have to wait long for a PA sale LOL.
