I have learned more about triangles here then at the university (thank goodness).

is there something in the shape that makes it sound different from other shapes?

im not a percussionist.
Playability.

Seriously the triangle players of the world deserve some credit. Once had to play the triangle to open a Brazilian song with vocals coming in at the 8th bar, followed by another 8 of vocals and triangle. Perfection can be torture (yeah we did it old school... no looping mother-fuckery - but if I had to do it again - Just loop that motherf**ker).
But old school sometimes makes for more interesting anecdotes... :ud:

Interesting antelopes.
