Like you say, why go on complaining about something, and focusing on something negative, destructive, than do better with your time? Makes no sense to me. On the other hand, it definitely makes sense when you're so depressed that nothing's really fun anymore. But, that's a internal issue, not something you can externally point your finger at. About time to realize that.
wait... is that addressed to me? am so not depressed, so.. not sure what that's about. &, oddly enough, you seem to be engaging in the very behaviors you claim to dislike. what's that about?

really, let's get back to discussing MX. there's so much to discuss...

No, not at all. :) I replied to the last sentence in your post above mine. Sorry for the confusion.

ha, all good! because i got depressed thinking someone out there thought i was depressed, which was depressing... :D

meanwhile, to get back on track. browser has to get better; even returning to a selected preset brings you nowhere near it (ie, if you move to the 'next' preset, you're back to the beginning).

but again, MX works. and sounds great. even my editor noticed it, likes the sound of new work (am using MX a lot so far...)

you need to develop a sense of humor. and there's never an excuse for whining; discussion is so much more productive.
And yet your are constantly whining about the whining.

please advise; how to deal with whiners? not point out the whining?
Trish said: "I'm the bad guy?"

FYI: I just had a lovely time with BIT. Rather simple synth, but I have a dual filter, sub osc, mod matrix and arp right there at my finger tips. And a lovely old skool flavor.

This next gen synth: wait no dual filter, ok then how about a sub osc, oops no sub osc, not exactely, were is everything routed? oops no mod matrix, and arp then maybe? no, no way jose.
I didn't pay 200 euro/dollar for the synth (more like 20 dollar), so I have no need to justify the cost of course. Have fun with MX, I'll see what a 1.2 version brings to the table.

I've posted my biggest concern regarding RSI on the NI website (as whining about it won't change anything) and we'll see where it takes us.

For me, it is as yet undetermined how much I will use it.

@Stefken: Everything you mentioned is a deliberate design decision. And, you also drew the right conclusion: Use what's better suited for you. If next gen for you means the things you mentioned, then, use the next gen synth of your[ choice.

Massive X DOESN'T have everything other flagship synths has. It doesn't have unison on oscillator level either.

I really wonder why they decided not to include it.

The global unison sounds very good though, it's possible to make some really classy supersaws.

please advise; how to deal with whiners? not point out the whining? it's a trick post, to suggest that complaining about all the whining (which takes up so much space on an otherwise informative and sometimes very funny thread), is whining. if you yell at me, and i yell at you for it, does that make me just as bad at you?

suggest a better reaction, and i'm there...
Someone criticizing MX is not directed at you. Why take it personally?

Also... If one person says they think MX is crap and another says they think it is an amazing synth... is one of those posts 'better' than the other? They are subjective opinions and both seem well within the purpose of the forum.

It is a brand new synth and different people have different opinions about it. Is any criticism whining? If not, then what exactly constitutes whining? And if indeed some people are whining, why do you feel like they need to be dealt with?

i don't take it personally. but why would someone hang around on a thread when they have no interest in that thread's subject? of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion. but some here present their opinions as fact, which i find... sad.

criticism, by definition, isn't whining; whining is whining... and there's a lot of that (plus ranting!) on the kvr forums. so it goes.

my criticizing whiners is not directed at you. why take it personally?

seriously? This ot nonsense started before I went to bed...here's one hint...if one is discussing a synth or piece of software there is no need for "you" statements..."you" statement create the need to defend said statements...this latest waste of space is higly subjective, absolutely unproductive, is not fun for anyone and once again shows just utter contempt for the request of a mod trying to keep this thread open too.
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

'you' statements are all anyone can do if posting an opinion. i get annoyed when people post their opinions as fact.

saying the browser is barely functional, is, for example, a statement of fact. saying "MX sucks' is an opinion. simple. and it's those things (which some people feel the need to repeat, ad nauseum) which breaks the flow of an otherwise useful thread (and, to be fair, my complaining about the whiners and ranters is also problematic). i keep promising to do better... :(

Probably we should have two threads? One for discussing the synth, asking tech questions, sharing tips and tricks, showcasing patches and another one for important opinions, whining, bitching about whining, whining about bitching about whining, nude cat pictures, blackjack and h**kers?

you statements are directed at someone, I clearly showed a great example of how to avoid it...substitute the word "you" with "one"...now it's generalized and no singling one person out, people feel less defensive and hopefully we get less of the bickering people are complaining about...otherwise IBTL
