Yeah, it's Core Audio directly. Steinberg never cared about doing that, it's ASIO to Core in a translation.

Not sure whether it's got something to do with that. When it comes to efficient DSP code, the Logic crew has always been doing extremely well. Back in the Windows days, when Logic was as well using ASIO drivers (under Windows), Logic has been *way* more efficient than Cubase already.
Same goes for, say, the EXS compared to Kontakt (as long as you keep the patches comparable). Kontakt is a CPU hog whereas the EXS is as efficient as it gets. Really, the difference is staggering.

How comes it's $4 for the PDF and $8.99 for the iBooks version? I mean, iBooks is the lousiest format ever invented (try doing a full text search and there's no need for any further proof) while PDF is standard and easy to deal with. Is it Apple ripping people off yet again?

I know about those. It just doesn't work.
Open the Logic manual. Search for "lead sheet". The iBooks version comes up with one single hit, pointing to a completely irrelevant page (which is even looking messed up).
Now, I still have the PDF that Apple released with Logic Pro X .0 - when you search inside that PDF, "lead sheet" generates 4 hits, one of them pointing you into the right direction about how to start creating lead sheets. The same sections still exist in the iBooks version but they're not found by the socalled full text search.
Fwiw, the online help actually yields better results but you need to be online and the Apple server needs to work (which it sometimes doesn't).

Anyway, iBooks is a disgrace to human intelligence and moving away from PDF in favour of iBook documents for their manuals is just plain wrong as iBooks simply suck for manuals.

I don't have that particular book but have never had a problem searching for text in iBooks as long as it is made searchable, but the same is true of pdfs, if the text is just an image (which is annoyingly the case in some pdf journal articles I find) it won't search

The text in both the iBooks version and the older PDF version of the Logic manual is largely identical (and only updated in the iBooks version to reflect additions). It's plain text (obviously there's pictures as well, but the text in question is plain text). So, no matter how you put it, the iBooks search *should* find these keywords. But it doesn't. Which makes it completely useless. Could be because of the massive size (OSX' preview is taking ages to find all hits and Acrobat isn't exactly fast, either), but that's not an excuse. As said, the very same text still exists in the iBook version.

And only being able to read this on Apple devices doesn't make it a better format, either.

Anyway, sorry for derailing the thread (still wondering about the huge price difference, though).

Articulations

If multiple output switches are used and the MIDI channel is set to any value other than number 1, each event will now get assigned to the correct MIDI channel.

Flex Time and Pitch

Flex Time adjustments in Take Folders are now properly displayed in the UI.

Takes/Comping

Resolves an issue where creating a Flex Time Marker in a Take on a track that is a member of a Group can cause the Take to be deleted in other tracks from the Group.

Key Commands

The key command for Toggle Track On now works as expected.

Export

Projects with tempo adjustments that contain frozen tracks now bounce as expected.

General

User Tuning Tables now work as expected.
The Smart Controls interface now appears at full resolution on 13” MacBook Pro.
