There's some older stuff in there. Your best bet is to find an interface that suits your needs on paper, then cross-check it against the chart. There's also the whole Round-Trip Latency (RTL) thing to factor in, which you can find details on in the big Gearslutz thread too.pljones wrote: Tue Jul 09, 2019 8:25 pm Are all those on the chart still currently made by their manufacturers..?

Surely it is relevant. If someone is going to build a new machine looking for good low latency support and they put in a bad USB - 2 audio interface they will be wondering why their shiny new Intel or Ryzen isn't a good performer. In fact I shared out that post to 2 audio friends who are going replace their DAW systems this year and they both thought it was great information.Eclectus wrote: Tue Jul 09, 2019 8:48 pm
Please keep this thread on topic. I reported the previous two posts, I suggest you do the same. This thread is about the new Ryzen, not about audio interfaces. There are better threads for discussing that topic.

A lot of those interfaces have cobwebs growing on them. But it is still an interesting chart.. I would have never guessed performance varied so wildly between interfaces like that.
In some cases perhaps an interface upgrade would be more benefiting than a PC upgrade?

I appreciate the audio interface chart . I have an EchoAudiofire4 and noticed the Audiofire 12 was listed pretty low on the list , so I'll probably change out my audio interface long before I build a new machine .. 2020 after Xmas I'll probably build a new machine .

Sure, but overall probably as beneficial as CPU upgrade, but it get's easily overlooked, I'm guilty of that too, in another PC upgrading thread member brought that up and I had epiphany, started getting hot for RME PCI cards, but than thunderbolt solutions (Universal Audio Arrow) caught my eye, seems like their performance is as good as RME solutions, so now it seems like good time to update to AMD and board that have native thunderbolt support.VitaminD wrote: Wed Jul 10, 2019 12:47 am In some cases perhaps an interface upgrade would be more benefiting than a PC upgrade?

Anyone else interested in thunderbolt interfaces? What's the best board to get?

I am but I am kind of lost on it since I am coming from a Windows background and it seems to be a Mac technology that is migrating over via new USB standard? Potentially looking for a sub 1k dollar rack thunderbolt interface with solid Windows 10 drivers.Passing Bye wrote: Wed Jul 10, 2019 10:20 pm Anyone else interested in thunderbolt interfaces? yeah also saw a MOTU 828es that looks interesting. Not sure how well they interact on a Windows environment or if any adapters are needed to make it work.
