Hello to all the Reaper fans.

May be you can help me.
Is it possible to have some plugin chaining in Reaper, to run plugins like it is offered in Studio One 4 to build complex instruments for on track out of many vst´s?
How?

Thanks a lot

Afaik, reaper handles plugins are in a serial chain ( if inserted on the same track )
You could of course create different tracks with different effects and make use of the flexible routing system , thus routing your source track to multiple destination tracks
But its's get cluttered pretty fast
Studio one , plugin chaining is a lot more flexible with it's crossover filters and splitting option etc
Eyeball exchanging
Soul calibrating ..frequencies

Plugins are in a serial insert chain by default, but the audio they produce can be routed any way you want (within a track) with the plug-in pin connectors. Kenny tutorial video:

If you're using multiple plugins, you might want to use something like LBX Stripper to create a unified GUI: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=182233

But of course, you could simply put the relevant controls directly on the Track Control Panel (FX Param menu > Show in track controls). You can link parameters together from the same menu, with Parameter Modulation. Link from MIDI or FX parameter, and you can have one parameter clone another, or go in opposite directions, and move at different rates.

Slightly different from what you're asking, which is annoying of me, but -- Element makes complex chains relatively easy. Element SE may, too, but I haven't played with it. Probably best to wait for the next sale.

The REALLY cool thing is that you can save sessions inside it and open it in other DAWS. So you can have the exact same chains when you switch from one to another, rather than having to painstakingly try to recreate them. Makes it so that you don't have to render stems when you track in Reaper and, say, mix in Mixbus, which some do.

That is very easy in Reaper:

1. Simple creation: Just drag'n drop your plugins where you want them
and save the whole chain as "fx-chain". This way you can use your created
chain everywhere.

2. Complex creation: You can split the stereo 2-channels of one track into
2, 3, 4, ... 32 stereo channels and distribute these freely to any plugin.
So you can build up very complex and unique plugin-chains. And again:
Save your complex chain as "fx-chain" and you're ready to use it everywhere:
On any track or any new song-project.

MPL has made some useful scripts for this purpose, like FXrack and WiredChain. Still not as effortless as in some other DAW's but better than the native implementation at least.

You can just literally stack VSTi's up in Reaper in the same chain and it will play them all...You can do everything you can do in any other rack chaining environment the only difference is the gui it's not displayed like a rack rather plugin pins if you want to get fancy.

Remember every track in Reaper is a 64 channel mixer basically.

Not always, it depends on the VSTi that you are stacking. Some don't let MIDI thru and there are plugins where you have a setting for MIDI thru on/off. Just something to keep in mind when stacking instruments.
