Hey hey,
I am working on this project http://www.auracle.org
From inside the web browser, you can control a synthesizer using just your voice. Plus, you can play together with other people in realtime. The synth
is a mix of different physical model ideas.
Give it a try and let me know if you have any questions.
Do you wany to make a time for a KVR jam?

Looks amazing! I checked some of the links... Found nothing in the FAQs regarding how you handle trans-internet latency, other than that you say that using low bandwidth helps you to eliminate this. How are you doing this? Using multiple redundant routes to send the same data? How reliable is the system?
Guess I'll have to test it and see...
Exciting stuff!

Music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist.

Can't open http://www.softsynth.com/jsyn/plugins.
Maybe another download location?
I found one on sonicspot but there is old version...
"The V12 free evaluation version is fully functional, but expires on 11/15/99"
lol
anyway - good idea

Good question. The analysis is done in near-real time on the client, and then we transmit the data over the internet. Yes, there is an inherent latency in the net, and No, we don't do any funky tricks to reduce the latency. We reduce the data to perform to reduce the amount of bandwith required.griels wrote:Looks amazing! I checked some of the links... The response rate is pretty consistent. At first we tried to make the response as quick as possible. But we ended hearing a reply to our sounds before we finished making a gesture. We decied to switch to a
conversational approach to making music: Make a sound. Hear a sound. Respond with a new sound.
The program waits for the user to make a gesture. It analzes the gesture. Sends the data to a central server. And then broadcasts that data back to everybody playing in that ensemble. This is a unique way of working, but it helps people listen to their sounds more and with a bit of practice, it becomes quite familiar.
