Expected much more, this is crap offer!

Will probably just take the upgrade for DSMv3 (even though I think they should have fixed the bugs in v2 before making a v3), sub isn't worth it for me, maybe would have been worth it if you get a free plug each year or a coupon for $100 like Kilohearts offer on their sub, price of plugs, well they're luxuries I want but don't need so I can wait for reasonable sale. Certainly nowhere near a deal of a lifetime but I understand PA saying this just for marketing speak and probably don't really believe it themselves

The NEW Plugin Alliance sucks ass

Post

Just wait for the used licenses to flood the market now.
"I was wondering if you'd like to try Magic Mushrooms"
"Oooh I dont know. Sounds a bit scary"
"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"

So...

I've now got six Deals of a Lifetime, ranging from $149 to $199. Some with missing codes and now, I've just received another email with my code for $199 that was missing from an earlier email. That's fantastic, just let me delete this old $149 one and I'll be right on it...

Please let them slowly realize, the heavy hitters will not return and do the subscription model.
One reason I never was attracted to Slate stuff anymore after they went full-on subscription.
Actually I'm happy, I'm not triggered anymore by their cheap/good prices. Win for me I guess.
Anyway I think others make better plugins now, like Vertigo Sound, Kush Audio, IK, etc.

As DSP algorithms do not age and many things are on sale in summer, I rather spend my few bucks with PSP, Bitwig, KV331 and others. If I compare what I get for my money, even when putting the unpleasant subscription model aside, I am just better off there.

With the DOAL, I am quite disappointed.

Hard to believe there're many user (new users) into subscription model thought :?
Such move could it be as a way to protect against piracy?

It's all about the dollars and cents.

jochicago wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2019 11:28 pm I think it's as simple as we all expected, they are introducing a subscription model. Looks like it will be priced in tiers depending on how much you've invested in the past. I'm also expecting a discounted intro price offer to get this thing started.
This model seems to be working well for Fabfilter, with larger and larger discounts as you buy more of their products. However, their catalog is FAR more limited than PA's, so that's a huge difference. I'm only a Pro-R and Pro-DS away from owning everything but the basic/simple level plugs.
That's actually a good model over there at FabFilter. The difference to PA is, you own the plugins in the end, and each new plugin is already discounted 50-60% off. Actually that's what the old PA did. But the new one seems clearly positioned towards subscriptions.
DMG also has a loyalty discount with 35% off when owning some plugins and additional 10% off for the intro-month.

Customers have been gagging for a PA subs and Dirk Delivers.

Apparently.

Don't really need to pay that much for access to a zillion different EQs and channel strips.

Somebody in that Facebook group as well?
How are they talking?

Would've been interested in the Diezel, but not $129+VAT worth of interested. That's an insane price. Still, it'll be $29 sooner or later, and when it is, I'll have lost interest in it anyway.

My "deal" of a lifetime works out to about £15 a month. I'm happy with the PA plugins I've got but that's no deal. Well, I guess the deal is, I don't buy any more.
A bit fried in the higher freqs
